26 Mixes - NME Review

Just remembered I saw this today. It was the main review,
quite a large article (and with one picture of a modified
Rich I've never seen before). Anyway it was very positive,
gave it a solid 8/10. They also did a retrospective and
marked his other albums - Druqks got an 8, ICBYD got an 8,
RDJ got a 9, Classics 9, Sel. Amb. Works 85-92 got a 9, and
Sel. Amb. Works II got 6. Don't even know why I'm posting
this but there you go.

Can't link to a magazine... they might stick the review up
on their site next week.

The NME trying to retrospectively make good for panning the
earlier Aphex albums when they were originally released.

Oh yeah, can anyone get a scan of this up, or do I have to
go and spend actual money on this filthy rag?

Actually they've been quite fond of him for some time now,
since 'Windowlicker' I think. Dunno what the reviews were
like before that.

AMG gave 26 Mixes For Cash 5 stars.

"We know, Steve."

I don't like NME.

Having just checked out their site it would seem I have
misjudged NME somewhat (although their website must have
been thrown together for a bet).

They reserve a fair amount of praise for DrukQs and Aphex
live. My bigoted, uninformed opinion was that they would
automatically hate this music.

There's a VERY small review in Stuff magazine as well. I
can't buy NME this week as it has Avril Fecking Lavigne on
the front!

I remember "ON" was single of the week when it was first
released, way back in then...

NME loved Aphex Twin back then and contributed a fair amount
to the myths still surrounding him today.

And then Oasis came and NME turned into a mainstream
teenie-mag, along with MTV...

Im pissed off with the lack of coverage IDM (for want of a
better term) gets in the NME nowerdays.
They used to be interviews and articles with people like
Squarepusher, Mike P etc. Now we're lucky if we get a review
every couple of months.

How silly of me. i'm forgeting were in the middle of a New
Rock Revolution®

can take a picture with my phone and post that if people
want?
