"My 600+ post on your board are 75% assistance/help
replies to your boardmembers who unfortunately do not have
any information to read/learn/listen. I swear, almost once a
month some poor uninformed/misinformed soul will start a
Melodies From Mars post asking where's track 12, where did
it come from, or what videogames feature it's music. I'm
just helping out fellow fans of electronic music when I can,
even if it means posting at your board.

Compared to the amount of posts some other board members
have (7000+) my paltry 600 are nothing to warrant my being
an insect - think of me more as the guy who accidently steps
in the pile of shit, and promptly finds some grass to wipe
my boot clean.

Sorry Nacmat, I know I should be above such petty insults,
but you can only be nice so long before you have to say
something in response. Please don't take my issues I have
with the management personally - the majority of xltronic
posters are nice people and I enjoy talking/helping with
them all the time."

NOO ! YOU ARE EITHER WITH, OR AGAINST US JOYREX !

I wish both sides would just step down. It's silly falling
out over something like this. It's not like I'm a neutral
party as I post exclusively here, but I can't help feel
people are fanning the flames...

(this isn't directed at you Monoid!)

go over to WATMM and post incidary comments...

this rivalry is really silly, i mean both phob and joyrex
(and all the members) know so much about this cool music and
then they/we come down to this almost calling names kind of
thing?
get real :)

this is what joyrex posted on watmm a few miutes ago:

Would you all like to know how this 'rivalry' started
between Phob and myselr? Some of you know, but since it's
always good to dredge up the past:

Back when I started joyrex.com (june '99), I was working
hard on my discography and I had painstakenly scanned in
every aphex release I had, or scans friends sent me from
their private collections. at the time, Phob's site
(zap.to.aphex) had a nice (but incomplete) discography,
missing some of the releases I had (specifically PowerPill
and Joyrex J4 and J9i).

Not too long after I updated my discography, Phob's
discography suddenly had those releases I added - now,
there's nothing wrong with having duplicate discogs (it's
bound to happen), but when I looked at the scans closer, I
realized they were mine (more on this later).

I confronted Phob about this (first via email, then via my
messageboard and then his), and he denied stealing anything,
saying he had scanned them himself. I explained to him that
unless he came clean about it, I would publically reveal how
I knew they were stolen, and he eventually admitted
publically that he had 'borrowed' them. (I knew they were
mine because at the time I only had the 12" PowerPill
release, and I had to scan it in two halves, and then
digitally 'stitch' the cover back together in PhotoShop.
However, in my rush to get these up on my site, I had
forgotten to erase/colour correct the 'seam' on the
PowerPill cover, and oddly enough, Phob's discog scan had
the exact same seam, in the exact same place.

Ever since then, I have been very wary of Phob, and we've
had our blow-ups in the past (like this one), but overall
we've kept a level of maturity about our rivalry (kind of
like saying 'hello' to the person you can't stand but know
you have to be civil to).

Now that the past has been dredged up, and this petty feud
still continues after 4 years, I wonder when it will end -
it's really, really boring and a total waste of time.

that situation is really sad : (

that shit and flies comment was really low, but that stolen
cover story wasn't better!!
and there must have been more than these... for the hate to
persist after 4 years...

(needless to say, banning Joyrex from the xltronic board -as
they suggested at watmm- would most definitely not arrange
the situation.)

i believe Joyrex and Phobiazero are both talented webmasters
and sensitive persons (i may be wrong about this, i don't
know them well enough)... a competition between both sites
wouldn't be necessarily a bad thing, but here it is rather
like a war... and between two persons.

such quarrels can't be solved if the grudge remains...
maybe, if they really want to end this war, i think
they can do it.

i dont think its a war between them at all... its a war of
the peeps who "got their back" having happy trigger fingers.

That has kept things 'tense' over the years, with the
occasional "I hate watmm" threads, or trashtalking about
each site that goes on each mb.

ive seen it when i was in high school. its like roosters
getting their feathers ruffled. i think everyone is guilty
of it, to varying extents. it just gets things sticky,
though. i hope the drama quiets down and the "calm" period
we were experiencing continues. :)

Threads like this seem rather pointless. It's just a
website. I have nothing against Joyrex. I don't visit the
MB there, and don't think I ever have. But there is no
reason for this pointless rivalry.
