ok, we've all heard of the "exquisite corpse" method before, haven't we? well, if not, here's an explanation: someone starts things off, then the next person only gets to hear/see the last little bit of what that person did, and create their follow-up according to what their own imaginings. what would result is a sort of escher-esque mix cd. i think it is a novel idea, and i wonder if you all would be into doing it? if enough people would be into it, i will explain how i have thought the procedure out... anyone?

I remember when I was a kid we used to get a bit of paper and fold it into four. One of us would draw the head of a person, fold it over and hand it onto the next. The next one would draw the body of a person and pass it on to the next. The third person would draw the legs of the person and pass it onto the next. And the last person would draw the feet of the person. We would then unfold the paper and laugh at the hilarious results. How we laughed.
With hindsight, it was shit. really shit.

well, thats how exquisite corpse works out, you dont know what you're gonna get, but you basically get one continuous "song", as in; the next song has an element from the previous as one of its components, even if it is altered a good bit.

No, this is something different... Basically "Theo Himself" is already doing what you described... there hasn't been an update on it for a while now though.

oh? i haven't heard about it, then... i think it's a great concept, despite what mr. hicks here thinks... they have an exquisite corpse going on the nurse with wound site... most of it is crap, but some of it works quite nicely.

Have you heard Adult's one?
Drexciya, Alder and Elius etc. join in. Great original track too, "Don't you stop".

wow! no, i've never heard it done musically... i've always heard of it as a strictly literal idea. nice, i'm glad people are using academic ideas more now in music.

""A new 12" that comes with a concept based on a popular children's game that has many different names depending on your region. 'The Telephone Game', 'The Telephone Operator', 'Chinese Whispers', it doesn't matter what name you had for the game as a kid, the concept is the same. A group of children sit in a circle. A child whispers a sentence to the individual sitting next to them, and this sentence is repeatedly whispered around the circle until the last child hears the sentence. At which time, the last and first children say their sentence out loud, and inevitably, the sentence has changed dramatically from the original. Adult. has adapted this idea for this release. A new Adult. track entitled 'Don't You Stop' has been remixed by Solvent (Suction Records). Solvent's remix was then given to Phoenecia (Schematic Record Co.) for them to remix, without letting them hear the original Adult. song. Alder & Elius (Skam) finish off the release with the same rules intact. The end product is a cohesive 12" with what really sounds like 4 unique songs with a common thread. Re: interpreting the Re: mix process." "
