ok what is a good cheapish hardware midi sequencer? alesis mmt8 looks good methinks. please any input would be appreciated. i need some buttons to press. cubase and a mouse is ok, but buttons are a must!

hmm i thought of that, but its the whole looking at the screen thing as well. i know some people like these things, ive seen a mackie one but its not really what im after.

Yeah, use whatever you find more comfortable. There's a lot of debate about which is better (hw or sw) but at the end of the day it's what you like that matters.
I do find looking at a screen after getting home from work (where I look at one all day) can be tiring on the eyes, but I like the big screen area. I wouldn't mind getting a hardware sampler for DJing, but for writing my own tracks I'd always use software.
