i just played rainbow six raben shield. you play a special
force team to kick terrorits ass etc. they said the a.i. of
the game would be stunning.... whatever.
i mean, is this realistic when someone shots your partner
down and you don't even turn around ?
and what game has the best a.i., you think ??

MGS2: Sons of Liberty. ^^

But sometimes I hate the phuqqing AI in the game, because it
reacts weird sometimes.

The ghosts in Pacman know everything, the tell me things,
tell me to do things with people eyes. They want me to take
them to a room in the middle of somewhere.

em, i wanted more a discussion about if games are getting
more realistic. do they ? i mean the graphics are getting
better and better, but the a.i. is like getting worse... is
this a trend now ?

Feels like it, but I think some developers are picking up on
it.

Halo's AI is superb. I've never once seen anything stupid
take place. No running in circles, getting stuck on
corners, standing around idly as teammates get blown away,
etc.. Enemies always react appropriately. Every facet of
Halo gleams with professional polish.. I can't think of any
other recent game that comes close. I haven't played Raven
Shield but I owned Ghost Recon for my Xbox a while back. I
was so disgusted with the AI that I took it back 4 hours
after I bought it. It was especially dissapointing coming
from the same developer that put out Splinter Cell, which by
the way DOES exhibit above-average character AI. The title
I'm really waiting on is Deus Ex 2.. Warren Spector has a
flawless profile and I'm certain this game will live up to
the hype. Gamespot has some good coverage if anyone's
interested.
