What's a good program to record/edit rock music? My friends
and I are using cool edit and it's just not doing the trick
anymore ;)

ableton live (if they are using a click-track).
multiple inputs would be good too (even just 4)

yes. I use goldwave to edit waves.
Very simple.
I record drums or and loop em.
Put guitar loops etc...
Try it.

Cool I'll check it out. Cheaper then buying a 4track
cassette recorder ;)

I second that. Drums especially sound good on tape.

ProTools is what most people use.

It's pretty complicated and spendy, but you can find "demo"
copies around the net if you look hard enough.
