What's a good program to record/edit rock music? My friends and I are using cool edit and it's just not doing the trick anymore ;)

uhh maby you can try GoldWav. Its a decent proggie for editing wavs.

ableton live (if they are using a click-track). multiple inputs would be good too (even just 4)

yes. I use goldwave to edit waves. Very simple. I record drums or and loop em. Put guitar loops etc... Try it.

ProTools is what most people use.
It's pretty complicated and spendy, but you can find "demo" copies around the net if you look hard enough.
