new placebo album soon + new single next week including a
very odd choice of a b-side: daddy cool by boney m!

i can't think of any other cover version recently that
freaked me out more. its just...wrong!

or perhaps 'i just don't know what to do with myself' by the
white stripes, although i quite liked that one.

anyone know of any other rather strange cover versions?

I really like Mansons cover of Down in the Park!!! :)

Toris covers are great. :) I really like the album; its
actually my least favorite of hers (mainly because she didnt
write the songs so theres not as much of an emotional
connection for me!) but I do love the album. Even her Eminem
cover is great. :) She owns that song, baby!

She also did a cover of leonard cohens Famous Blue
Raincoat.

She once tried to do a live cover of "I Will Always Love
You", but a little bit into it, she admitted, "I dont know
this fucking song." hah. :)

Some new band covered Street Spirit by Radiohead, needless
to say it was pretty atrocious.. It turned what was a
beautiful, fragile little song into an intense wailing
session.

I liked Jenkinson's singing too.

the soft singing combined with the cymbals works really
well.

Coil's version of 'Tainted Love' is essential!
(nothing to do with Manson's crappy one...)

i love NIN - Dead Souls too, one of my favorite NIN songs -
though i haven't heard the original and it is not that
"strange"...

WOW... the original version of "Daddy Cool" is Fuckin
Awesome... For some reason I thought it was from the 70s and
not 99.

I had the Placebo version for about a month and started
getting into it, but sound quality was shit. The Us never
gets good songs like this. I've downloaded every version of
this song including the Latin Mix, which is pretty good.

A really funny cover was Devo's cover of Head Like A Hole.
If you haven't heard it you should. Very odd, and funny.
It's not something I'm going to listen on a regular basis
though.
