I only wish the american corporate stranglehold on the media would loosen enough until it even remotely resembled the freedom of speech seen on UK television.. this show, Is War The Answer? was honest, unedited and not nearly as needlessly polished and prepared as anything you'd see on american TV.
the people in the forum were from 20 different countries and were allowed to ask prime minister blair ANYTHING.. and counter his response.. accusations of disdain for iraqi people, to his interest in this war being the result of an investment in iraqi oil were levelled in his direction .. NOTHING like this would ever be allowed on american tv.. not only would the censors be all over it.. but bush would not be able to handle it.. blair may be full of shit right now, but at least he is an intelligent human being .. and a credible leader who earned his position. he can actually speak in full (correctly inflected too by the way) sentences and make his point clear and stated intelligently.. he is far more respectable than governor bush. seeing someone like this shouldnt, but unfortunately is, a breath of fresh air for americans.. bill clinton did a similar forum at one point, al gore did when he was running for president.. bush simply could not handle this, because there would simply be too much spontinaity and an imbalance in honesty between he and the audience.. while I may not agree w/ his backing bush, or his reasons for it I was very impressed with the way he presented himself and his arguments (much of this respect comes out of contrast, you must understand).. other than this, the live and un-chopped-into-an-approved-and-favorable-presentation feel to it was refreshing as well.. finally, there were breif, concise informative pieces that divided the three parts of the discussion that might have filled in more people than it needed to .. also a good thing.. did anyone else see this ? I'd like to hear your thoughts.. others in the UK.. ceri jc etc.. what do you think of this program, tony blair and his curious zeal

god what is up with you conservative sheep infesting this electronic music board, do you have minds of your own, if you did you would realize that we're all being fucked in the ass right now, there are hundred of prisoners in Guantanomo Bay Cuba right now that have never had a trial to prove if they were guity of terrorism, and they never will have a trial because no Americans care to know that anyone is down there in prison......The Patriot act raped the constitution..now there's Patriot act 2 that is fixing to be passed in congress............if you all beleive what is being fed to you by the media then you are all destined for failure, in whatever your goals are, your freedoms are being taken away and you don't even care to find out...........
http://truthout.org/
go there and read...then see how you feel about this shit that you think is the way of the true American........true Americans descend because of tyranny....

Okay. I'm not going to argue with you, it would just be silly considering your understanding of the current situation is almost equal to that of a 10 year old FAS victim watching a half an hour of FoxNews at 11. Instead, I'll help you out. I feel bad and that's just the kind of considerate guy I am.
First of all, those who disagree with Governor Bush's "plan" to attack an entire country of [already] victims, are not PRO-SADDAM, they are not TREASONOUS, and we - and I want this to be perfectly clear to all the simple minds that have made this convenient connection - ARE NOT PRO-TERRORISM FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. STOP SAYING THAT. This country was predicated on the belief that one would be given the opportunity to voice their opinion, even if it clashes with that of their unelected, dimwitted cokehead of state. What I am disagreeing with is the method by which Bush hopes to bring about a regime change (and I know that's not what he's after, but it's a nice sugar-coating on top of this mess) and I am against this war because if (IF I should say) this all goes smoothly (yeah right, just like it did last time, right dad?) the American people will not benefit, the world as a whole will not all of a sudden love us, and Osama bin Laden - someone who actually HAS proven to be a threat - will still have a pulse (and I need not remind you that an attack on Hussein is compensation for the absence of one on bin Laden). Lastly, Hussein isn't an immediate threat to the US, and Bush acts like our safety is a priority over that of the Iraqis, despite the fact that we're thus far unharmed, and they have lost thousands of lives under Hussein. If Hussein, in the past 8 years, was a smaller issue to America than a protein stain on a White House intern's dress, why is he all of a sudden the catalyst for the apocalypse? And why, EVEN WHEN WE WERE AT WAR WITH IRAQ twelve years ago, did he not serve as a threat to America?
If Bush is going to put the threat-to-America spin on his pro-war argumen

If Bush is going to put the threat-to-America spin on his pro-war argument, he should consider North Korea, confirmed to be a nation with a nuclear arsenal that has been more caustic and aggressive about it's anti-American sentiment than Saddam has.
If Bush chooses to use the regime change/installation of democracy in Iraq as an argument, he should also focus his ostensible hero-to-the-rest-of-the-world act towards many other African nations that have dictatorships far worse than that of Hussein's; some of which STILL to this day enslave their people.
Your argument and slander are the results of misunderstanding, the complacency for spoon-fed propaganda and the gullibility and simple-mindedness so prevalent in the American public that allows the spin doctors to believe we will actually BELIEVE this bullshit. Stop perpetuating a dangerous and ignorance. Do not surrender to this. Especially now, you need to educate yourself.

well i really shouldnt say shit being this is a pretty liberal board cause in the process i seemingly make a fool of myself getting so "excited" but its all good. i really respect your opinons and they are valid, its just i feel differently, well im not as conservative as i may come off and im not some pro war machine either i do see the negative aspect to war / this war, i just really hate how people ignore the evilness of saddam and focus it on bush..
