Taking a pony ride through a crimson-hued
sandscape--suddenly an attack of dark blue crablike
creatures, while the stars melt from the mantle...the crabs
are confused now, scuttling to and fro, avoiding the falling
star-goo. The ponies, they're frightened, sad to die. They
can feel the burning. The planet and the sky are shrinking,
everything is being scraped beneath the surface, and finally
all that is left is a lonely pulsating entity.

beautiful track, flea, from the get-go.

Just ask him for the copyrights to include it as inlay art,
get and email from him print it out, post it to yourself by
recorded delivery, don't open it and bob's your uncle :)

hey speaking of copyright.. if i put a track on the net...
how on earth can i claim its mine if somebody else takes it
and says they did it?

Same way- I burn mine to CD, post it to myself before ULing
it- that's why I UL several tracks at once. I've only
started doing this since my tracks have become of a (what I
consider) decent quality.

Having the source files (.flps) is another good proof.
That's why I only let trusted friends remix my stuff rather
than putting self contained zips online for anyone to DL...

well every file you create has a digital signature
the..including the date you create it..screen shots of that
should work...

Ah, but there are ways to fake that date
:(

Only sure fire way is posting 2 masters (I know, 1 master
and 1 copy!) in seperate envelopes to yourself then getting
the copy put in a bank and keep the original at home. Wait
till you're releasing before you get that anal about
it though :)

Yes, ideally you'd get one signed (by hand) with witnesses,
but if he posted the same decleration here (on the MB)
and the MB was still up when the case went to court it'd
probably be valid enough proof (certainly you'd have more
evidence than the other person). The number of witnesses
here would help too.

He he, I actually have a copyright declaration from Marlowe

at home for something from ages ago :)

Usually if it's someone you can trust you can not bother-
like rdj writing the inlay for []have the copyright waiving blurb signed by rdj ;)

Sorry, it's what you get living with 2 law students, having

some good mates who are lawyers and a ex gf of 3 years
mother being a law lecturer :P

I actually have a hard copy of that as part of a document
date stamped by my university- given the individual that
actually stamped it (advisor on copyright to UK govt!), it'd
be pretty good proof :)

what do you mean by "sure why not :)"

like "sure lets collaborate?" or like "sure, lets remix
something in a while"
or like "sure, i'll get some coffee while you wait here"

here's my stupidth input: it was perticularily excellent.
You chould've put it on your demo disk. Have you had any
replies from any labels by the way? If you ever get one just
do like I did to warp and schematic, and tell them to fuck
off.
