Kill Bill

I know some people are really excited about this film, but
I had not read anything about it until I just this minute
watched the trailer.

What's going on with this? It looks like Tarantino does
Charlies Angles vs. The Matrix in a Scary Movie-style. Is it
a joke?

It looked incredibly derivative, even by Tarantino's
standards

hmm have to check it out, i usually like his stuff..
resevoir dogs, pulp fiction, jackie brown.. he also
participated in making 'killing zoe' which was nice too imo

i'm currently d/l-ing 'four rooms', he also did a part of
this movie right? is it any good?

Four Rooms is ok. Not worth the slagging it got when it was
released.

Martin, I said exactly the same thing about Kill Bill when I
linked the trailer a few weeks ago. Looks shit imo.

I reckon Kill Bill looks fantastic. Tarantino spins Kung-Fu
with Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu Daryl Hannah and a chick from
Battle Royale. All good stuff to me :D

Tarantino's films are far too self reverential and achingly
right-on. He's too concerned that something looks cool and
trendy where instead he should just concentrate on actually
making a good film.

I will definitly see the movie!!! I mean the just the
soundtrack make it worth seeing!!

I know the movie will be average but the whole score is
composed by none other than RZA (from wu tang)!!

i agree. the trailer looks fucking cocky. Its like tratino
says "i´m gonna do the best kung fu shit ever with my
patented pulp fiction coolness".. when he obviously hasn´t
seen "Legend of Fung Say Yuk" or other early kunf-fu
classics. fuck off with yer hollywood pat-on-the-back
crapology ........... youn want "cool"... watch Lone Wolf
and Cub movies...... or Kurasawas "Yojimbo, Sanjuro" the
coolest fuckers ever to fight on film (don´t evebn start me
on Bruce lee, the gimp!)

Snap.

The clips don't looks os good- matrix parody as someone else
pointed out. Didn't know RZa scored it though... might be
worth checking out for that. Or maybe just DL the soundtrack
;)

Snap is a carrd game, when you get the same card as someone
else you shout snap.

I use it in conversation to mean, "I thought/said/did
exactly the same thing"

as Tarantino is a fan ok HK cinema i'm sure he's seen a few
of those films you mentioned and he probably knows enough
about martial arts films to make a decent homage... anyway
i'm looking forward to it, especially after seeing that
trailer.

Well I've always enjoyed his films, certainly they always
stick out from the humdrum. Yeah there is always that 'ain't
I cool thing' but I like his movies a lot especially Jackie
Brown. Uma Thurma looked cool in this new movie, but we'll
just have to see. If its as bad as Matrix 2 then well
that'll be a problem. Come on though Tarantino just doesn't
make shit movies so lets wait and see.

nothing interesting really, just work being stupid nuts,
trying to move, gf going to hospital, car being broken into,
telstra trying to screw me out of $2K, phone line being
fucked and telstra refusing to fix it (meaning no net @ home
atm), it goes on, heh

haha, i got a new pc for work yesterday... i turn it on, the
thing starts smoking and goes bang, it blew up.. just my
luck.

I loved Four rooms--the first story was my leat favorite.
The Misbehavers and Tarantinos were both very very funny ;)
Tim Roth is great. :D

danbrusca--NICE ICON!

I cant wait for Kill Bill! Is it still going to be split in
two?? Grr! >8(

my prediction is that kill bill is going to be a
peice of clichéd crap. stuffed full of played out special
effects, pseudo witty one liners, and tarentino style pompus
dialog.

that being said i do really enjoy reservior dogs and pulp
fiction.
