since it is a naturally occurring herb and it is
prepostorous to ban nature, yes it should be legalised.

you realize the justification for it's original
illegalization was that it makes people insane, axe-murerous
sex addicts? of course it should be leagalized.

Yeah fuck it, it IS a gateway drug but if you're stupid
enough to start jacking up then that's your problem.

Of course. The origin and the quality could be more easily
controlled, and it would make more money for the State.

Yes as it is fun and harmless, and alot safer.

And no becuase it would be taxed to death !

i'm of the opinion that tree paper is as monstrous as any
crime and, of course, if marijuana was legalized so would
industrial hemp usage.

I'd rather it wasn't, but then, I think smoking cigarettes
should be made illegal :)

There's nothing I hate worse than to see an Anti_Drugs
advertisement on television, making no distinguishment
between the seperate drugs. There's one campaign right now,
with a young man on an Unspecified Drug, who is wandering
aimlessly about, with people avoiding him - in the pub, at a
party - then he comes to in an empty flat and the tagline is
- you're missing the time of your life. When I was in my
drug days, the non-drug taker was the ABSOLUTe minority at
allnighter parties, and I had a hell of a ball - so that
kind of facile ignorance makes my blood boil!

Indeed. Marijuana may be a gateway to other drugs, but it
can also be a gateway to new friends :)

i think one reason why marijuana might be a gateway drug is
the false education on it. they tell you it's a bad thing,
and nothing more. when one has an extremely positive
experience after trying it out (espeically if very young)
they often react by thinking the whole thing is a lie, and
it can't hurt to go onto the other baddies.

i bet only drug dealers and tories will oppose the
legalisation of marijuana.

i think it should be legalised, there seems no justification
for it being illegal.

No, people should get their minds onto more important things
other than worrying about smoking dope. Small mindedness I
would say.

That reminds of the Bill Hicks sketch, saying you never hear
any positive drugs stories in the news -- he gave his own
report about a young man taking LSD and...ahh shit - Yavo,
help me out here -- I can't exactly remember what he said!
:)

"Young man on acid suddenly realised that we are all one and
that there is no such thing as death...." It's sampled on
Tool's 'Third Eye' but I can't remember it all. Listen to
Bill about drugs, he knew the score.

offline pOgO from behind your belly button fluff on 2003-03-05 09:27 [#00581606]

I think it's more of the dodgy drug dealers and the places
that you sometimes have to go to to get it is what could
lead you onto other drugs, for example Yavo ! Had a cone
over this dealers house and it had heroin in it (he didn't
know). That's a bit risky.

If it was legal there'd be less chance of getting dodgy gear
as it would proably me moniterd for quality controll etc.

Yes.
Alcohol (hard drug) is free so why can't cannabis (soft
drug)? It's so hypocritical.
Some people get agressive and violent under influence of
alcohol. I never saw somebody getting violent on pot.
Alcohol also paralyses your brain while weed swings the
doors of perception wide open.
I guess that's why the bonding experience as roygbivcore
wrote is so different.
It's only a shame that the day after you can't remember it
all :)

Unfortunately you can't pin that on me, Ceri - for, you see,
I've had a terrible memory for details and the like ever
since I was a child. I have compensated by being
quick-witted, inventive, and very good at improvisation.

i am for the ban and making illegal of cigarettes, so you
aren't going to get me on the MJ = legal bandwagon.

I don't see why people can't just smoke in peace if they
want to smoke? Why spread it around my air?

Get a nice book of blank paper. When you are stoned write
shit down, if you're with friends write shit down. It will
help you remember and in 10 years time be a fantastic
reminder of the fun times you had.

People that smoke weed should obviously not be criminals
simply because of the choice of herb they inhale. Its a
ludicrous state of affairs!

Thats not to say its good or bad, but arresting someone for
using weed, is utterly indefensible. IMO

I see, well if you had nothing to lose...

I reckon if it was legalised it should be in the home only.
Cigarettes should be in the home only as well. It really
annoys me when my hair stinks of smoke after I've been to
the pub/clubs.

I like it just the way it is in holland, if the dutch
government would legalize it I bet it's gonna be taxed to
death like pOgO said.
Right now, it's not legal/illegal, and I can still afford
the price.

I try to be polite when I smoke and keep it away from people
and never smoke near children but I still get bitched at.
Makes me want to just get in peoples faces with a big cigar.
I'm sick of people being plain fucking insulting to me about
smoking.

I feel strongly that naturally occurring drugs should be
legalized, but I'm not sure about the manufactured stuff.

Maybe the manufactured drugs should be legalized but loosely
controlled like prescription drugs are now.

I wish I wasn't chemically addicted to nicotine either. It's
good for my mood swings tho, I can just go off and have a
smoke rather then throw things off the wall. :)

But smokers are (nowadays) a minority- why should the
majority suffer because of their actions?

Perhaps there should be designated smoking rooms in clubs- I
understand some people wouldn't be able to go 6hours+
without a ciggy so some provision should be made.

I get annoyed when smokers complain about non-smokers having
a go! They're the ones in the wrong- their passive smoke
damages my health...
