It's a shame that the digits are have been calculated
beforehand and put into a file. I wanted to write a page
with script that would churn out the digits of Pi
indefinitely using a single digit extraction method. That
way the html file itself would be small.

Never bothered though.

pi isnt an exact figure...this is the nearest they can get
using different mathematical formulas on mega computers that
can calculate like you wouldnt imagine how fast...i think
yasumasa kanada did 200 billion decimals in oct 99..is this
