how does afx create his snare rushes? i know there isnt one basic thing he does, but in general? is it mostly dynamics or what?

You just play a group of repeating snares at 16th, 32nd, or whatever notes, and add a volume envelope or effects to them. It's really not that hard to do, actually.

i don't think you can zoom in anymore than it already is.. just increase the amount of steps in the sequence and speed up the bpms.
