No, not music that will live forever, but music that makes
you feel like time is stretching or compressing.

The two tracks on In a Silent Way by Miles Davis are 18 and
20 minutes, but they don't seem long at all until you
realize that the better part of an hour has ticked by.

Squarepusher tracks, especially on Go Plastic, do the
opposite - there's so much detail packed in there it feels
like they last longer than they do.

Tracks by Opeth (melodic doom metal) seem to go on forever
because they have so many sections. Same thing with 70s prog
music like Yes (especially on shrooms hehe)

Aphex time-stretching: Rhubarb

Aphex time-dilation: Cock/Ver10

Any questions?

I was just listening to In A Silent Way last night and I
agree.

Weird how they looped the tape on the first piece.

i just mentioned this album on another thread, but it fits
here too...

download "III" has that affect on me as a whole.. it seems
to last forever even though it's just a 70+ minute album..
that could be because i listened to it on repeat with my
friend one night on acid..

nahhhhh...

Akira Orginal Soundtrack.
Tracks like Requiem, Illusion, Shohmyoh and Tetsuo are all
10-15 min, but feels short. Some of the greatest music ever
produced. Download or die a most horrible death. Seriously,
tis' great music.

Shit, I think I have that on a cassette somewhere.
Unfortunately the guy who taped it for me was a dolt and the
volume is really low. Think I'll download a few tracks as
you suggest. Is it still in print?

Yes, I could have bought it last week, if I had any money.
Great stuff.

it depends on the time of the day, but alot of FSOL's
Lifeforms seems to go rreally fast. you just get lost in the
music.
