This makes the cover art for the album even more disturbing
imo. I think it's a brilliant record but that story - shit I
dunno, is this art or just someone being a sick bastard?

Nothing to say on the subject but hardly surprising and not
shocking.

Expect it more?

snares lives in winnipeg, and i'm sure he experienced the
whole case in his teenage years ...

Injected with bleach, Tied up and dropped into a pit of
maggots, acid drops on your opened skull, insects in womb,
what next? All these subjects and more have been covered by
the death metal bands I used to listen to.

Death IDM

I don't remember Cannibal Corpse ever basing their stories
on a real life murder. Shit, I bought Slayer's 'Seasons In
The Abyss' when I was 12 and that had 'Dead Skin Mask' on
it, but this is slightly... different.

Hmm, Well I don't want to discuss this as last time I did I
got flamed and I don't want to diss Funk. I guess you are
right tho.

remembers me of the song jeanny from falco. story about a
kidnapped girl; the song features samples from a real news
radio broadcast. i remember the video/song got banned in
germany (and other countries i think). the was real much
turbulence about that track ...

I'm not offended by this at all, and unless Snares deigns to
issue a detailed explanation behind the concept then we'll
probably never know the full extent of what he's trying to
achieve. Maybe I'll put the album on now, read the story
again... and masturbate on the cover art.

JOKE!

killer--that snares is a right copycat :D

I looked Uzim but there must be more to the story than this.
I remember him being discussed here a few times but never
really caught what it was all about.

i sure would like to know what snares has to tell about
this... if it was a tribute to her, or to the murderer, or
just to put something sick, or...

(good site that vsnares.com btw)

old news

Author: martinhm

Whoops, can't read. I guess it refers to the 13 year old
girl Candace Derksen, who was found tied up in an abandoned
shed in Winnipeg in 1984. She had frozen to death. And you
can read all about it in her mother's book: "Have You Seen
Candace?"

he's a bit crazy :)

"Venetian Snares (aka Aaron Funk and his girlfriend
Rachael Kozak (aka Hecate) are releasing a new album under
the name Nymphomatriarchs. As the name suggests, this duo
isn't exactly putting out the model "Adult Contemporary"
album of the year, but if you were thinking "X-rated sounds
from every position imaginable put into techno form", then
you hit it right on the head. Funk and Kozak recorded
themselves sexing it up on several occasions, and Funk has
plans to assemble the sounds into a full-length album. In
the January 2003 issue of Playboy, Funk says, "It's weird to
deconstruct the sounds of sex. It makes you conscious of a
lot of stuff you'd normally ignore. I remember thinking shit
like, 'Oh, that slap will make a good snare drum.'"
