At last justice has been done. Has is really reached such a
stage that a guy can't even have a luxury house in the
phillipines stacked full of children's videos without people
automatically thinking the worst? I for one will be looking
forward to his next Stars in their Eyes children's special.

This is disgusting. This guy's name has been slurred now
just because some kid cried 'rape'. Fuckin kids! They all
want it you know.

yeah,

"I'll watch whatever videos I want, and if you don't
like it, I'm gonna go and fuck your children"

Trial by media. It's a disgrace. He's a happily married man
with two grown-up kids for fuck's sake! So what if he's a
bit camp. It never did Kenneth Williams any harm, did it?
And anyway, these accusations happened about 30 years ago.
Everyone did crazy things back then. It was the 70's!! Come
on, remember the clothes and the zany hairstyles?

Well, Kenneth Williams spent most of his life torturing
himself with self-loathing--so I'd say campness did him a
lot of harm.

And I thought this thread would be about a new solo Matthew
Kelly record...

Kenneth Williams was a prototype for unfunny Julian
Clarey/Graham Norton type camp comedians. Not very funny at
all.

shelf.

Kenneth Williams was a hell of a lot more than a cheap
forerunner to Clarey and Norton.

He was better, but still unfunny in my opinion. It was his
only gimmick- double entendres and campness...

That wasn't the real Kenneth Williams. He was an EXTREMELY
intelligent, well-read, philosophical person, and a great
stage actor, who was unfortunately railroaded into a
pigeonhole.

Railroaded into a pigeon-hole???!!!!????? What a fucking
mixed metaphor that is. I think I understand what you are
getting at, though. He was his own worst enemy was poor
kenneth.

Bit like Michael Caine? Very good actor, but he got stuck in
the same role after the Harry Palmer films...

Christopher Lee would be another good example. I thought he
was just some B-movie actor from Hammer Horror until I saw
him in interview.

You ever saw the Wicker man with Christopher Lee? Scariest
fucking film I have ever seen in my life.

Yes, I just got it on DVD (£8 for 2 dvd version including
directors cut at play.com- bargain).

That was the interview I saw.

Brilliant film with a superb soundtrack.

We saw the same thing with Roger Moore. He was never really
afforded the opportunity to show his full range and will
forever be, James Bond 007.
