Film school! :)

I toured Wright State University this weekend and applied.
I'm going into film--very excited. The process is very
selective--one has to have no less than a 3.5 in classes
related to the major and nothing below 3.0 otherwise. The
first two quarters we don't even touch film because it's all
writing about film appreciation and film history. I'm
really excited about this. ;)
The fourth quarter of the year, we do only sound--no
picture! I just can't wait--it's going to be fantastic! We
have to audition at the end of the first two years, also,
and the people with the most potential and highest GPAs get
to go on. I'm dedicated and I'll put in all the effort.
I'm entirely enthusiastic about this. ;)

Man awright that's cool; you better stop wasting your time
with us ne'er-do-wells.

Seriously! Less messageboard, more study! Lusty, chain the
man to a bare wooden table with his studies and a tin water
cup. On week-ends there shall be pudding.

Thanks! :)
hahaha Yah--the instructor said that out of all the kids who
start, most of 'em drop in the first two weeks because they
can't handle 16 hour days. Plus, we don't do any video;
it's all traditional film because it's easier to pick up on
video and it doesn't take much teaching except for some of
the differences. The film labs are open 24 hours a day.
Which I think is great because I'm a night person and do a
lot of my work at night.

Indeed, I shall! :)
I believe anyone whose truly dedicated and can make the
grades can succeed at whatever they want; so I'm looking
forward to it. They told us that our junior thesis films
are going to be in groups of 3 or 4, and that everyone will
vote on the approved scripts. So I'm going to start on one
soon and be thinking up ideas constantly. I don't want to
make someone else's movie! :)

hahahaha :) Hes really excited, and I honestly think that he
can do it if he keeps his mind on it. Hes a slacker,
usually, but this will change him. :)

Im going to major in social work and be a counselor. I know
its not exciting like Film, but I dont want to entertain--
want to help people. Wright State has an excellent social
work program. :D

Just remember that no matter what, you ARE going to have to
compromise sometimes and work with other people. You are
pretty bad at that, and that has to change if youre going to
be doing those projects in groups, Luke.

I was torn between social work and teaching for a while,
mainly because Luke was upset that I wanted to be a social
worker. He was saying that hed never listewn to me if I
wanted to talk about my job and how depressing it was to him
and although he knew nothing about social workers, he hated
them and had no respect for them and blah blah... (lets not
get into that)

I have two social workers in my family (aunt and cousin) and
the woman who inspired me to go into social had her asters
in social work. Ive known some lousy social workers, yah,
but I see a lot of joy and hope in this field, and I want to
help!

Cultural studies sounds awesome! What is linguistics,
exactly? :) *hides stupid head*

linguistics is the study of languages. language science.
