...I don't get it. I wish I didn't buy this.. after a first
listen it strikes me as a less interesting and more basic
Confield.. I wish he didn't sing. I wish he didn't cover the
misfits ...I think it sukcs.. many others seem to love it ..
what am I missing here

i love this release
he only sings on 'dad' ('she' isn't done by him i think)

i love this release, go back to your stereo and listen to
'january', 'in quod' and 'cashew' with volume at 10 (out of
10)

:)

hmm, much, dunno.
it`s a bit jazzy,
was the first album that really reminded me of the older
squarepusher stuff.

of course it`s another great snares album, he advances with
every record ...

i'm rreally getting into jazz lately. i have always like SP,
but i'm getting into it morre than i everr did. i need morre
electrronic jazz. (but i still like rreal jazz, which i used
to hate)

i'm getting more and more into WITBOAS...there are some weak
tracks (the last two), but all in all i think it's a really
good album. not his best tho...

i dont really like it too much...'dad' and 'in quod' are
good. im not keen on the rest. this is snares' strings
album.
all artists seem to have strings albums. the only artist
whose strings album i like is aphex twin (rdj album) and
that is one of my very favourite albums.
i much prefer the less minor snares stuff. either the jazzy
& mental (2370894)or the wierd (giant alien).

hmmmm.

I bought this album earlier in the week, first time I'd ever
really listened to any Venetian Snares. For some reason, I
was expecting something more insane and harsh, but the
impression I got from listening to it was 'Squarepusher'.

Not saying it was bad, just not what I expected. Liked it
enough to warrant further listens though.

I just dont get what there is to like about it.. it's very..
empty or something.. he uses shitty instruments..

i don't see whats so squarepusherish about it, it's unique
and it stands out on the very top together with confield

though i have to agree with phresh that the last two tracks
are a bit weak, but as a long fade out they flow nicly with
the album

different league entirely.

Winter in the Belly of a Snake is an excellent album. Dark,
weird, and phuqqed up. ^^

And such lovely cellos / violins in some of the tunes. I
love the "broken-sound"-feeling.

excuse me nene.. but I'm one (of few) on this site that isnt
sheepherded into liking any and everything every
semi-legitimate name creates with a tracker and an acid pro
program on the planet-mu label.. some people actually
suck... yes it's true, ask the person that runs the label..
there are a few talented IDM strongholds.. autechre
aphextwin squarepusher.. boc.. photek, tobin etc.. some,
like venetian snares are just exalted by nerdy idm fans
without a discriminating taste... u can't tell me anything
to convince me a talented person made this album.. there is
quite simply very little to like about this.. and I'm
struggling to find even that.. the development of a few good
sounds isn't worth the inflated price and extended waiting
period that came with the territory of purchasing from
warp.com.. I will say this tho.. it came with cool
stickers;) other than that.. I really feel there are other
artists/albums that would have been far more worth the cost
of this piece of .. nothing

this is his newest right? hm i heard one track from it on
the radio (his single?) and was not at all impressed. it was
terrible, in fact. i had to agree with the dj who said 'and
now for some real music' after it was finished.

it's the opposite with me, i find his old stuff kinda dull
but he seems to get better with every release.

the artists who devide up ppl are the interesting ones
usually.
these arguments mustnt be taken too seriously though, it's
only opinions
