Blind Dreams?

Are people who are born blind able to dream? If so, what do
they 'see'?

I read a dutch article about a blind guy who dreamt that he
could see and that he (in his dreams) picked up a
normally-pressed book, and opened it. At that moment a
memory-conflict arose, 'cause he didn't have a picture or
experience in his memory of what it would be like to
read a book. In his dream the letters of the book
became bigger and he could feel them with his hands (which
is probably 'cause he in normal life used braille).

It's a very strange phenomena i think, 'cause the dreams of
people who are able to see consist mostly of visuals of
memories they have.

Probably light and tone, maybe even texture, but I highly
doubt images that we could portray anyway.
Good question you've got me guessing here.

It varies if you were blind from birth or not but all blind
people dream in pictures. The brain does all its internal
work with pictures only.

but all blind people dream in pictures

but how can people who have been blind from birth have
pictures in their head? They have never seen anything, they
don't know what anything looks like.

Difficult stuff..

blind people do not dream in pictures, the do not even see
darkness. They just dream, feel emotions and think thoughts.

The brain converts all impressions to pictures before it
processes them. Close your eyes and touch something round,
pointy, sharp or soft or whatever. It's impossible not to
try and visualize the object. This should be the most
obvious but it goes for smell and hearing too, and the rest
of the senses.

I think blind people dream the pictures they interpretated
with there hearing and feeling.
Interesting subject.

I want to trry and explain something.

imagine everryone but YOU can see out of the tip of theirr
fingerr... now you trry it... you can't, you don't see
black, you don't see anything at all. well thats what it is
like forr people who have been blind frrom birrth. they have
no concept even of what its like to see, they can't see
black so saying theirr drreams arre drreams of shade is less
likely i guess to them drreaming about what I car may look
like shape wise. theirr drreams will be fucked up.

Apart from those dreams it's very interesting how to
experience life blind. When you're deaf, you just can't hear
- it's quite. When you're blind,. you can't even see a black
image. How would that work??

Blind people just dream about the same way hoe they actually
experience their life, with sounds, and feelings, touching
and the likes. And if they weren't blind from birth, images
will shoot by..

It's difficult to understand to miss something you have. I
guess when a person is blind from birth, he/she won't 'miss'
this ability, they never experienced how life could be with
it. true right? Or is it a mental issue too - look - if your
penis has never 'worked' from birth, you still could get
turned on right? *God weird similarity erronous*

It's also fascinating that when you lose one of your senses,
the other one's take over the energy of the one left
behind.
So if you lose all your senses except hearing, you probably
electronic music at its maximum. :-).
