just a little question:
how do you feel about your country? are you pleased with your nationality? (do you feel somewhat patriotic or not?)

Everyplace I've been, nothing beats Sweden. I'd like to see Australia though, someone give me a trainee work there!
Being Scandinavian is good, we have a good reputation of being honest and hard-working throughout the world.
No patriotism. I believe we are one universal race of space monkeys.

Patriotism is the enemy of the working class and counter revolutionary. The worker has no country.
I loathe my country. All we give a shit about is fuckin rugby.

i'm french... the bad reputation french people have may be frustrating ^^; but this rather amuses me in fact.
i'm not patriotic at all, nor proud to be french... i kinda like my country, except for the government which is getting worse and worse, and i don't know much about the public opinion but from what i know the french population isn't the best in the world.
i don't know which country is "hated" more, france or united states... but the relation between these two are quite bad and i'm afraid i'm starting to hate usa too.
bad thing... should not generalize like this.

Oh, how self deprecating.
The difference between being patriotic and jingoistic is the breadth of a gnat's pube. Here, The Scottish National Party try to justify themselves by saying they are standing up for all things Scottish. No matter how they dress it up, they are all inherently racist and bigoted and dream of a shortbread tin scotland that died hundreds of years ago.
It's a round world last time I looked.

The shame about America is the fact it has the potential to be a great country. If only they could get rid of Texas and Capitalism...I know plenty of AMericans who are really decent individuals. It must be a frustrating place for a lotta people. I'm sure it's the same in plenty other nations, but America is the most powerful and was based on such beautiful principles.

being an american means you are kinda covered in a haze of depression... you WANT to be proud and feel good about your culture, but it's hard to... i think america had a strong beginning (you wouldn't have a man like lincoln elected nowadays) but ultimately, it's just like any other government... out for your time, your money, your will. it's sad... we haven't had a decent president since i've been alive.
