lately i can't get enough of Cap.IV
so what's your opinion on these three individual tracks?
i'd say:

Gantz Graf: Great track, liked it even more after i saw the
video, that helped me comprehend the structure of the track

Dial: Weakest of the three, kinda boring after a while

Cap.IV: Best track on this EP! I put this one at the end of
an IDM compilation, the beats/percussion at the end really
push it to a climax

I only really fell in love with track 3....
The first two havent grown on me.
Yeah near the end of that track, your mind is dizzy.

gantz graf is a wonderful track. it's very short, but it is
like telling a long history. after listening to it you
think: wow, that was about 6 minutes long ! awesome track. i
even like it so much that i mislike the video :)

cap. IV : hm couldn't get into so much.

dial : this is a wonderful track. there are some really cool
effects in it. they are described in an older topic called "
shepard tones " try it out

the video really did help me understand the track - it grows
on you
though it will take a while before it'll get a classic
status imo..

Gantz Graf is superb in my view. I really admire how
accesible they can make something so unlistenable. Track 3
and 2 are my favorites. I always listen to them like they're
one track tho...

Har ikke sett noen av dem live, så dette blir litt av en
opplevelse. Kjipt av Blæst her i Trondheim har blit så
udugelige. De hadde jo samarbeid med Blå og Agora før, men
nå er klubblivet labert her i byen.

Trondheim..

maybe

gantz graf was utterly noise/industrial until i saw the
video, now it's like a harmonic masterpeice.

vivid imagry + time = = win

i like all of it, but i don't understand why so few of you
like dial.
it's in short, a great mindfuck if you listen to it at high
volume and listen to it through without forwarding.

Also, im norwegian and im also going to see richard in oslo.
i don't like merzbow though.

In order of preference:

CAP I.V. sounds like a recording taken from a lost space
station to me. Some kind of intelligent form is singing or
crying at the beginning. As the track builds, we can hear a
meteorite rain bouncing on the cockpit and I can imagine
outside the infinity of the expanding universe.

Gantz graf is more abstract - I see that more like a musical
evocation of a quantum computer. Information qbits merging
and splitting, non-linear parallel operations trigerring
sounds.

Dial is the weakest song IMO - I don't know why but it
reminds me a Prodigy song...

i think you have to have a very strong visual imagination to
able to listen to the likes of the album in the first place

but dial is great. the funkiest thing ive heard since R.D's

It's an active process - that doesn't work when I'm trying
let my brain do the job for me. In the other hand I'm not
able to actually describe with words the different images
I'm playing with - sometimes they are only partial or
multiple.

For cap iv for example I started to see little dots fading
away, creating clusters and stuffs - then as I imagined that
it was meteorites they took the form of small irregular
balls and started to bounce on a window. Behind the window
that you (me) listening to the track.

dial is maniacal, like a lumbering runaway freight train
with the power of a tornado, starting to crumble from it's
own momentum and shooting off showers of electrified pieces
of itself, yet still maintaining a constant speed and
structural stability, never slowing, like a machine
posessed. it almost falters in the first half of the song,
but by the second half it finds its rhythm and maintains it.
a driving, MANIACAL ASS rhythm made up of the beat and the
constant shepards tone stabs! i love it

01: Can't stand it; insufferable noise that isn't even the
sort of noise fans of industrial music can dig. It's just
absolute noise for the sake of noise. It's distortion just
to say, "it's distorted." It's purposeless, uninspired
sampling with sequencing that, despite being completley
random, is very repetitive sounding.
02: Another bunch of crap. The ten note melody that doesn't
change is irritating, the fast tempo clicking is
predictable, and the whole song sounds like different
instruments playing different songs. nothing goes together
or contrasts enough--it's in a grey area.
03: Cap. IV despite being my favorite, is completely
predictable. It starts out all right then is sped up with
some beats added, subtracted, replaced, at a few points.
It's long, it's very conventional (for Autechre) and it's
just a very dissappointing departure from the control
exhibited on records like Confield and even EP7.

01 is not noise at all. listen and it's so obviously not
like "hey sean, twist that distortion knob." keep in mind i
thought tri rep was noise for the sake of noise the first
time i heard it. i think gg is just wonderful.

and it's only repetative in the sense that a jimihendrix
guitar solo is repetative. "he's still doing the guitar
thing!" not at all random either. just listen! it's
obviously a bit of a journey, whether you enjoy it or not.
