The Belgian government is against a war, does that mean it worked?

sounds very good.
it's not that often so many people all around the world express their opinion with such a volume.
there really can't be too many demonstrations on this subjects. Every demonstration, no matter how small, makes a difference because small streams make up a big one and that is exactly the power of the peace movement.

And do you think so many of you are against it because here on the message board are of the age where they could be conscripted into the war (worst case scenario).

i think the us is not far from a political suicide if the strike iraq without the UN:s permission.
The rest of the world has the power to stop the us government from fucking around. It just demands more radical actions we've seen so far. I'm talking something in the lines of boycott and other financial pressure...

I think the UN should send a team of inspectors to the us. They've got the largest amount of weapons of mass destruction in the world and i doubt they would hesitate to use them too.
And then the UN could give Iraq, Al Qaida, North-Korea etc. permission to attack the us.

3. North Korea 2. Iraq 1. USA

Diplomacy has doen nothing to change the Iraqi regime over the past 12 years. You can strengthen international law all you like, but Saddam Hussein will just ignore, like he has done for 12 years. Seriously, when do we say enough is enough? When his family have ruled Iraq for a hundred years and killed literally millions of their own people and consigned the rest to perpetual poverty and suffering?

hussein is an aging dictator, attacking the US and conquering the world are not items on his agenda. he has no ties to bin Laden or al-qaeda. he's an arab nationalist , bin Laden is a fundamentalist muslim. they have , and wish to share nothing in common. all "evidence" that contradicts this is propaganda. yes, hussein killed his own people.. in the mid-80's.. let's get off that, esp. considering bush has put more people to death than any governor in the history of texas. .. this is just a grudge match, W is restarting what daddy couldn't finish.. a lot of people forget that George H. W. Bush (or King George I) is the president of the US right now.

i was merely pointing out the us is the most dangerous country in the world. they are much bigger a threat to the world than iraq or any other country for that matter. if iraq isn't going to be allowed to defend itself, why should us be?

your prime minister is a hopeless case..I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him and would advise you to do the same..
after all his dossier that was his biggest case for war on Iraq was a plagerism of a research paper written 10 years ago by an Iraqi American student...
your own Intelligence agencies are going around negating his line on the presumed links between iraq and Al Qaeda...

im totally agains war but iraqi-if they really have that mas destruction weapons-present a danger to world peace, and something should be done-certanly not war though
when people compare US and their weapons to iraqi situation:
its not nearly as dangerous that something might go wrong, since it is a democratic country with ellected governament
on the other hand-saddam is a dictator, a very unpredictable one, and someone should do something about it...
if iraqi really have these weapons, it should be destroyed, but certanly not with starting a war...
