Alright, I'm tiring of Internet Explorer, I'm considering
either Opera or Mozilla. Which one is better, and why? What
do you use?

And is anyone here dumb enough to use Netscape? Blech!

Help me out and I'll give you a free cat.

I use a special porn browser which censors everything except
hard-core banging. Can you slice my cat up when you send it
me?

Marlowe

Mozilla is free so there's no excuse not to try it out. It's
a damn good browser, but slightly slower at rendering
complex page layouts than IE, esp. on a slow machine. The
feature set more than makes up for that though.

Opera has a 30 day free trial so there's no reason not to
try that out too. It's definitely faster at rendering pages
than either IE or Mozilla, but it feels a little weird to
me, like they haven't really thought out the interface as
well as they could have...

I am really impressed with Mozilla... they finally are just
as fast as IE and their CSS support is more compliant than
IE.

I do not like how it puts %20 for spaces on my imported
bookmarks from IE though... might just be a bug with my
machine though.

I say give Mozilla 1.2 a try - you won't be disappointed.

I'm actually using Mozilla right now! I like the window tab
up top, keeps my toolbar from getting cluttered... seems a
little slower, but not enough to hinder anything. I have
Opera, it's fast as heck... but a very annoying ad up top if
you don't buy. Fuck that. The mouse movement thing is kind
of cool, though.

I can't figure out how to import my IE bookmarks into
Mozilla... is it possible?

First you have to export your IE bookmarks as an html file.
In IE go to file, import/export, and follow the bouncing
ball.

Then once you have your file, in Mozilla go bookmarks,
manage bookmarks, tools, import.

Let me know if you need any help installing Flash or Java or
anything. I'll be around tomorrow... and now, blessed
unconsciousness. Nite.

i've tried several mozilla releases and they're just too
darn slow on my pathetic p2-400. Though IE has its faults, i
do like the fac that you can basically remove all buttons
and menus to utilize lots of screen real-estate.

I don't agree that Mozilla is slower at rendeing complex
page layouts, I don't really notice any difference. However,
if it is, it's more than offset by the fact Mozilla renders
table incrementally, whereas IE won't render them until it
has downloaded all the code.

Mozilla has a skin called Pinball that takes up very little
space.

As for the speed, every release gets a bit faster as they
optimize the code. I'm using the 1.3 beta which runs
perfectly fine on my celeron 500. I still find it's a tad
slower than IE. Users on more modern systems probably won't
notice any difference at all.

there's an easy way to remove the ads from Opera..
AstaLaVista.com - just use the pull-down menu on the
left and select a crack/serial search engine of your choice,
type in "Opera" and you'll get loads of results of
cracks/keygens/serials you can download for Opera...

ah, the joy of not paying for anything. i love you,
Internet!

I like Explorer the best, I can't find anything wrong with
it. Especially now that I have a prog that removes all
pop-ups, easily installed into IE 6.0. With that combined,
internet browsing is a pleasurable experience.

IE6 on XP works fine for me...everything else just seems
slower, biggier or some sites fuck up...

I know MS take a lot of flak, deservedly so at times but IE
is the best PC browser outthere for the vast majority of
users...

On the mac, a lot of my designer mates are raving about
Apples new Safari browser ..nice & lite and getting more
compliant every week (still in beta at moment)...I'd
definately give that a try if I were on a Mac...

just trying to put the problem in perspective; there a
million better ways to get acces to someones info or PC than
using browser holes...

People are still happy handing their CC nos to people in
real life whilst online they get totally paranoid when doing
the same...that really doesn't make sense..

linux, not windows (boy isn't that a surprise).

i haven't tried mozilla with windows.

I always use Opera 6. Its the fastest and coolest. You ever
heard of mouse gestures? You can do stuff like reloading,
going back and forward with certain mouse movements. The
mail client is useful too.
