I'm just curious as to how many people on this MB own this
cd, or vinyl. Please specify which format.

I own the cd.

I have it on yellow vinyl. For AFX-completist only. It's is
afx's worst release in my opinion.

To be able to appreciate this track you need to understand
early 90's cheesy techno like 'Tetris' by Dr Spin. I don't
think he was trying to follow Analogue Bubblebath with
'Powerpill' just adding to the UK/German rave anthems. Take
it for what it is not for what evolvement Aphex Twin had
otherwise you will become the musical equivalent of a stamp
collector. It's a one off but it goes with many other
tracks.

if i think of it as just another uk/german rave anthem i
would hate it, i think of it as a homage to pacman, and im
just happy it proves how versatile rdj really is...

Well you would be difficult wouldn't you. }:>

Yes, Aphex Twin is very multiflexible. Him and Squarepusher
could make very accessible dancefloor shit like you wouldn't
believe but I'm quite sure they won't and avoid the extra
attention it would cause.

pac-man isn't a million miles away from the caustic window
track r2d2, and i don't hear anyone complaining about
that....

Yeah right... It's A completely different style IMO. But
yeah, Caustic Window went down well in Germany so I get your
angle but I'd never compare the two tracks.

There's still a lot of the trademark AFX sound in
PacMan...not just a novelty track; you can kinda hear
greater things to come...
