if you haven´t listened to Alive in Japan all the way
through with headphones then you can´t say shit about
Squarepusher. He´s got what noone else has...... the black
matter that binds us to the multiverse wrapped up in every
fucking crazy tune.....

burning tree is grreat.....

remininsent of FMWT. IT has some classics on it ... nearly
all the tracks really. With the odd HND jazzy track o it
too.... its a must.

I never really dug []<---
I have two of his albums: hard normal daddy and go plastic.
Hard Normal Daddy has some really good tracks like cooper's
world and beep street.
But I don't like his style on go plastic. I love the way he
starts with most of his tunes, but they all seem to end with
the same chaotic aphex twinish sound. With lots of bleeps
and brhghbs and hukkehukkes etc.
Richard knows how to control these chaotic parts, he makes
it a part of his track. But Tom can only create chaos that
way.

offline KEYFUMBLER from DUBLIN (Ireland) on 2003-02-12 10:50 [#00552313]
Points: 5696 Status: Lurker

chaos? its total controlled chaos man, if you gave it a
chance. Its like someone saying of autechre "sure all they
do is loop a load of glitchy bleeps".... there so much more
to it i reckon. the control and sense of timing is completly
there. Squarepoushers tunes are designed to listen to 100
times before you finally say "oh yeah!.. i get that lasyt
bit now"

I still listen to FMWT and hear new shit i never heard
before!

yae!

i really like (most of) his stuff. So far i've got FMWT,
HND, Budakhan Mindphone, GP, DYKS, RedHotCar-ep, Maximum
Priest. Especially those first 4 i listed are fantastic, the
others a bit more inconsistent, but it's always at the very
least interesting to listen to. (except the red hot car ep,
which was a waste of my money!)

You just have to learn how to listen his music. And then
you'll find he's a genius. Just prepare your minds.
But be carefull-for me, after []pusher, every other music
seems to be boring...

i d thought the same about "go plastic" and d liked onlu "my
red hot car..." and "tommib" but now... it is his best work
and i was a bit dissapointed with "do you know
squarepusher?" after this marvellous "untitled ep". i hope
the things released under MEN label would be far much
better.

Yae ! I love squarepusher, I love his attitude..
I think he got more skill and talent than aphex twin in many
ways, but in some not.

well, i used to love squarepusher, but lately i guess i have
been getting into more experimental stuff or more academic
stuff if you will. i just can't really respect him as an
electronic music because his format isn't really what i dig.
i like people that explore with synthesis, algorithmic, ya
know like some serious manipulation. with squarepusher i
just hear some simple synths, crazy beats broken up,
