If John Lennon were alive today, do you think he'd have
embraced genres like IDM....? Just a thought.

My point exactly. Revolution9 sounds nothing like anything
else Ive heard from the late 60's!

You obviously haven't heard much from the sixties then.
There was lots of experimental bands in the sixties. Lennon
was just dipping his toe into experimental music. As his
increasingly embarrassing solo career displayed, Lennon's
creative powers were disappearing.

If he were alive today he'd be on his umpteenth sponsored
Beatles re-union tour, singing "she loves you" and "help" to
octogenarians.
