hmmm. i just might have to agree with you, as far as his
more catchy, poppy material goes.

"4" and "Girl/Boy Song" are almost as strong. Just as
focused, less polished. "Windowlicker" sounds cleaner.
"Nannou" is really up there too. But I really think, for
many reasons, (not just it being catchy/poppy, which it
legitimately is - he had just made his money off of "Come To
Daddy" etc. so his spirits were prolly up). Tracks off of
the SAW2 collection can't really compare to the
aforementioned tracks, because they lack the variation,
texture and drive of his more ambitious work. "[Rhubarb]"
deserves much honorable mention as well.

I'd say Top 10 Aphex Twin songs are as follows:

1. Windowlicker
2. 4
3. Girl/Boy Song
4. Nannou
5. [Rhubarb]
6. Bucephalus Bouncing Ball
7. Film/Alberto Balsalm
8. Acrid Avrid Jam Shred
9. Pancake Lizard
10. Mt. Saint Michel+Saint Michaels Mount

Really tough call. Depends on if "best" is to mean
favorite, or if it's the track that's technically his best.
Because he has tracks that are great, but aren't my
favorites.
For instance, girl/boy song is fantastic, but it's not my
favorite. My favorite, at the moment, is probably Acrid
Avid Jam Shred. :)

...maybe "Fingerbib" should be somewhere around 6 or 7.

I'm going for his best technically. Although, I concede I am
a bit biased, as that is one of my absolute favorite tracks
by Aphex Twin, and the very first Aphex Twin track I had
really listened to. (Save for hearing "Girl/Boy Song" on MTV
Amp compilation, and the popular "Come To Daddy" video.) I
wanted to get into Aphex, and I found "Windowlicker" for
$6.99, thinking it was mislabeled, not knowing it was an EP.

I think a lot of the electronic tracks on "Drukqs" are as
complex and textured as "Windowlicker" but just aren't as
good/focused etc. For example "Ziggomatic 17" would be
great, if it wasn't riddled with self-indulgent tangents
every here and there. "Vorshbodn" could have been a little
tighter/stronger as well.

Listen to Vordhosbn and Cockverlo and tell me those dont
represent his talent best. Those two songs are easily his
greatest with Mt Saint Micheal in third place.

As for his most important songs I think Flim comes in first,
followed by Windowlicker and Boy/Girl song.

IMHO

those do serve as good exhibitions of his talent as of late,
but I don't think they were executed quite as well as the
others I mentioned.

why "Film" as his most important though?

imo, 'acrid avid jamshred' and 'Vordhosbn' are far superior.

When I first heard Milkman, I just couldn't get it out of my
