the patience for 639 years. Yeah.... those guys are dummies
because by the time it's done everyone that knows about it
will die. ;op

Yay, another dumbass gimmick like John Cage's incredible
4'33''.

I'm going to slap my own face, the sound it makes (WHACK)
will be a .21 second long track representing the damage man
does to himself. It's art, I tell you. Give me money.

Longest symphony
The symphony Victory At Sea, written by Richard Rodgers for
the documentary film of the same name, and arranged by
Robert Russell Bennett for NBC TV in 1952, lasted 13 hours.

A drum-roll, please...! The longest drumming marathon by an
individual lasted for 42 hours and was achieved by England's
Peter Wright from March 23–25, 2002, at Janels Drum
Tuition Music School, Dereham, Norfolk, UK.

Just some random facts of the top of my head ;)

music in 12 parts by philip glass is a challenging 2.5 hours
from start to finish, try that out.

a TRACK is a word given to compact discs only. they don't
exceed 80 minutes.

this discussion is retarded.

offline magicant from Canada on 2003-02-05 20:33 [#00542772]

ok, i recant. i just read the article.

the concept is, i suppose, that the piece has been playing
for the last 639 years or so and they are now completing
it.

....maybe this discussion still is retarded.

offline magicant from Canada on 2003-02-05 20:34 [#00542773]

or maybe I am....

...and since i've JOINED this conversation, the discussion
is DEFINITELY RETARDED.
