never been into Massive attack, but for starters, which is
best of the following:

Massive Attack - Blue Lines
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Massive Attack - No Protection
Massive Attack - Protection

theyre £8 each

Mezzanine, I think.
If I saw it for less than $5, I'd get that one, but the rest
of their stuff i'll pass on.

Blue Lines is the most flawless..
Protection and Mezzanine have too many weak overproduced
tracks

I think Blue Lines sounds abit dated in parts, but I'd say
all their albums are 'must haves'. Personally, Mezzanine is
my favourite, closely followed by Protection.

But you can't miss with MA whatever you get. Its like
sticking your dick in a cup.

protection is a gem. definately my favourite but the new
album may slowly overtake it.

come on, they can't do much better than 'teardrop'.. and the
two exchange tracks are great. I'd say mezzanine

though protection is a more seminal release

mezzanine is so different from the others
imo you should buy that one, and one of the older ones, i'd
say 'protection' (although 'blue lines' has "unfinished
sympathy" and "safe from harm" <-- brilliant)

no protection is quite shite imo, i have it (only 'cause i'm
such a damn collect-it-all-for-the-sake-of-it idiot) but the
original tracks of protection are way better

let us know what you got

pitchfork gave 100th window a bad review

yeah 5.1 or something.. read it this morning..
i've only heard 2 tracks, but i think i disagree with this
dude coz i liked those 2

I've read it and I think its a fair assesment. Whomever
decided to invite Sinead O' Connor to the studio needs their
head examined. the lyrics on A Prayer for Englund are
laughable. A song devoted to the guy who played Freddy
Krueger??? Come on!

I bought Blue Lines, then Mezzanine and i think the latter
is by far the best. i wish they would get Lisa Gerrard to
guest sing on one of their songs though, that would be
amazing.

I just looked at some of the pitchfork reviews, i cant
believe how pedantic most of them are, and boy do they hate
nin. I get the impression the reviewers seem to hate albums
before even listening to them, are there any decent reviews
on the site?

*nods in agreement*

Massive Attack - Mezzanine would be my choice!

you should do a search for the thread about
pitchfork.....and how biased they are towards some artists.
i'll see if i can find it!

meoww :D
sweet massive attack, my girl's car (she loves it) the
perfume of her hair, soft smiles, quick kiss, mezzanine is
good too

Mezzanine.

100th window is their weakest album. Sinead O'Conner is too
dominant. There are some nice beats, and sections, but songs
as a whole pale in comparison with Mezzanine.

Blue Lines is good, no doubt about it, but it has to be
Mezzanine if u can only get one.
