(as always excuse my horrible english)

just saw this film at the angelika theater in dallas

each scene was either extremely boring, or very... i dont
know how to say properly in english, "involving" ?? some
parts of the film seemed very wasted -- because they would
evoke ideas, and then jump to something entirely different.

the second scene was my favorite overall. it is mostly video
of people performing in the olympics.. jumping over poles...
runnig very fast... ice skating. it was very showy of the
human body -- there would be "catscans" and x-rays of the
human form between the athletic type things (which were
constantly being distorted in color.... sometimes
negative... sometimes polarized..)

there was a GREAT section also which reeled very slowly
(from left to right) the faces of most world leaders from a
very long time ago up until now (georgey was the last shown)

it was very harsh on white america i believe, too. very
mocking of the advertising, and the "white american way" --
i did not think it was very necessary at all.

honest to myself the 2nd portion of the film (titled
"massman" on the soundtrack) was my favorite. if aliens were
ever in need of ... say... a diagram of humans, their
nature, build, and abilities, i would show them the 2nd
portion of the film naqoyqatsi. it also was part of my
favorite piece of Phillip Glass's soothing soundtrack. the
music in most other parts of the film was extremely boring
and was very predictable.

also... i kept thinking throughout the movie..
autechre should have fucking scored this!!! it
wouldve been a tasty job and i think they could have done
much better. this should be a future project the guys should
tackle. they could really fuck some heads in. i just cannot
stop imagining something like a 50-minute gantz graffial
type film.

the biggest difference of naqoyqatsi over the original was
its use of modern digital editing and things like that,
which made for some very neat special effects (almost every
scene is a "special e

unfortunatly, I have not seen the film yet, but I do have
the soundtrack.

So as far as the music supporting the film, I cant make any
judgements (although I have incredible faith in philip
glass)

But the soundtrack stand alone is one of my favorite albums
ever. It is one of the most beautiful scores ive ever heard.

well as far as filmtitles go, it couldn't get any less
appealing. It might as well have read "trqgfodnlukewhrte"
for me.
