is that track empty? I got it as a piece of silence

yes, it's empty.

the vinyl version of geogaddi has an engraved picture of a
family on it. on the cd version there's just silence. some
say it's there just to make the duration of the album
exactly 66:06.

But that's crap, cause the number 6606 isn't anything!

Nice avatar by the way, I'm a pretty big Chris Morris fan.

Isn't a magic window a very high frequency.
I thought the track would contain high frequencies but a cd
could not carry anything so high.
Then i found out why that tracks there when i saw the total
cd length.I thought my cd player was possessed.

yeah yeah nice nice.. but seriusly arent boc kind of wank?
geogaddi was my worst buy ever.. an people praised it..
thats a bit more then i understand, i mean boc make fucking
boring music.. and quite frankly i dont care about
subliminal crap if the music aint good enugh..

i heard them say they thought the last track was so
beautiful they didnt want the noise of the cd player stoping
to spoil the sense of calm,so they added magic window

I like Geogaddi. I don't like the following about boards of
canada.
01: the belief that their style is completely original
02: the fact that their pre-IABPOITC releases consist mostly
of songs that wound up on so much--there's a lot of overlap.

03: The tracks themselves kinda lack a little bit. MHTRTC
has it's moments, definitely, but if you're a BOC fan, you
don't even need to bother with anything but MHTRTC,
Geogaddi, and In a beautiful place...
04: Their sound doesn't really change over time. Look at
Aphex, Autechre, Squarepusher, The Beatles, anyone, and
their sound changes as they get older--they're constantly
switching things up. BOC tends to stay in this comfortable
zone of acceptability--which isn't bad, i'd rather they do
that than turn out some crappy tracks just for sake of doing
something different, but i just feel they don't have the
ability to step outside the box very much.

hmm, I heard ultra low frequencies, too low for the human
ear

somebody get an expert in here

offline Spookyluke from United States on 2003-02-02 11:06 [#00537802]

the point is the end result. for instance, a sculpture made
of wax that looks like wood is still wax. so if a song
sounds like nothing, even if it's low or high frequencies,
it's still nothing. Search for john cage connection in
4:44--BOC pretty much ripped off his idea. :|

It's just a gag. Trying to fuck with our heads. There are
no audio signals recorded on the track.

in reply to "jf jasson d" etc:

isn't it funny how whenever some troll appears who is
slating BOC, they only ever have a few points to their name
on this board.

this is an obvious recurring pattern on here. and if i'm not
mistaken, phob or some other moderator could probably reveal
some interesting results regarding the IP address of this
person.

there's no mistaking the fact that a certain individual has
a 'sour-grapes' hate mission going on...

isn't that right jh? ;-)

thats what i was thinking just last night!
my cheap cd changer is pretty loud when it changes CDs, so
having magic window after Corsair gives me plenty of time to
turn off the cd player or go back to earlier tracks before
the calm mood set by Corsair (beautiful track) is ruined by
"CLICK-BUZZZZZZ-CLICK-BEEP-CLICK"
