I didn't :D
Nice topic btw neetta
but to elaborate on it, if a song carries an emotional load,
I only need to think of departures in any form (i.e.:
funerals, leaving behind and/or thinking back of certain
times in the past, forced breaking up with loved ones etc.)
to get blurry eyes and a lump in the throat.
What works as well is if an artist of who you wouldn't
expect it displays a wise viewpoint of life in his/her
lyrics using triggerwords that produce misty eyes and ol'
lumpy in the throat. A good example of this would be don't
panic and trouble by coldplay.
And I love it too, I'm a real sucker for sad/emotional
songs.

took your advice - grandaddy

"i took your advice about the microscope,
but now i cant find anything I'd like to see up close"

so so so sad, and the melodies are so sad. anyone know what
instrument/synth they use for the solo in it?

songs that have made me cry:

possibly maybe - bjork
long way around the sea - low
like the whole of pet sounds - the beach boys

anyway, its more the situation plus song than just song. the
song just brings it all flowing out :)

for me anyway

NEIL YOUNG - After the cold rush

sometimes i pick up his old albim from messing my desk.
it makes me sad emontion.
i don' know any reason...

TELL ME WHY
AFTER THE GOLD RUSH
ONLY LOVE CAN BREAK YOUR HEART
SOUTHERN MAN
TILL THE MORNING COMES
OH, LONESOME ME
DON'T LET IT BRING YOU DOWN
BIRDS
WHEN YOU DANCE I CAN REALLY LOVE
I BELIEVE IN YOU
CRIPPLED CREEK FERRY

i would have said street spirit too but usually i listen
when i already have teared

there are many finnish rock groups who sing about the
dreadful reality etc and that makes me sad although i hate
the music.

oh and björks hyperballad with brodsky quartet
