The only two I know of are a mate of me offline, and sponk,
from the board here, who I also know in realtime.
:)

Jamming with sponk was relaxed:)

I know a few people who dabble in electronica occasionally,
but I wouldn't consider them 'into it'. Shame really since I
can't really talk to people offline about my love for this
music without getting blank faces :(

I know four other people into electronic music in "real
life", who I talk to regularly anyway

I like to blast Otto in my car and I love the facial
expressions I get around my area, people turn around and are
either all into it, or they have this look of terror mixed
with a WTF!? kind of look

hehe

My closest friends share the same music interests as I do,
otherwise they wouldn't be my friends :)

in my community? most people aren't into electronic. they
just feel more secure as sheep and listen to what the media
and peer pressure want them to.

in one of my classes last semester there was a dude with an
aphex shirt

I caught my mum humming the 'Milkman' melody the other day.
Most of my friends are into IDM.
Luckily I am surrounded by many styles of music varying from
nu/death/grind metal / moshcore / hardcore / classical music
/ indiepop / techno.
An open mind is a nice thing to own, now I only need some
glue to make the nice stuff stick

A couple of years ago when i first started listening to more
alternative rockmusic... and my little brother was still
only listening to commercial top40 music. That was great :-p
He couldn't believe the crap i listened to, and we always
had arguments about are different tastes in music...ahh...
those were the days!

But then after a few years he also started to listen to
alternative rock... and it wasn't long before we liked
exactly the same artists (well almost), and buying the same
cd's etc. I mean it's nice for him, and i'm glad he also
discovered that beautiful music... but i missed our
arguments :-p

But now that i've started listening to idm, the arguments
are back :-D Hehe, he can't stand any music like aphex twin
and boards of canada, and we are all always arguing in that
brotherly way about are different tastes in music... good
times, good times ;-)

But uhm yeah.... on topic: no-one else in my environment
listens to this stuff (i think).

My buddy down the street likes it as much as me, we hardly
ever talk about it, we just listen to it, swap cds,
mp3s....get stoned...pump up the volume and sit back. Nice
friend to have.

Electronica is starting to get quite popular where I live,
only cause it's "the new thing". First it was metal, then it
was drum 'n bass, then it was psy-trance, now it's
electronica. I don't care, I've been an avid listener since
'97...kiddies can think they're cool and listen to it, as
long as they start throwing more electro parties to cater,
I'm happy.

my friends is into hiphop.. another is into classic rock and
(ugh..) "jambands" .. (I was once dragged, kicking and
screaming, to a PHISH concert)... but one of my friends is
really into that trance shit.. like sasha/digweed and paul
oakenfeld.. he stole my roni size cd from me that I was able
to get a few of my friends into
