hmmm, well I call them something like Ambient rock... imo it
is some kind of rock, because it has electric guitars, and

this year sort of sucks for rock, but I'm into hardrock so
that may be the problem.

this album by Sigur Ros though, oh my God, it reaches the
most fantastic climaxs in the songs... track 6 is just
fantastic... all this emotion is built up, and is resolved
so perfectly... oh my! :)

rock but nonetheless its great. rock stuff that was good:

Qotsa was alright, not great
Local H's album was pretty good too
