its probably like those two weird orb double cds, I own one
of them, its all these other peoples mixes and their mixes
of other peoples stuff its weird, really good though.
probably the same deal.

Back to Mine is a mixed collection/sampler of the biggest
musical influences on the band who is doing the cd..its a
series...hope that helped any.

here, little review, more like a collection than a remix
stuff
The 12th in the acclaimed "Back to Mine" series finds
ambient pioneers the
Orb scouring their record box for some of their favourite
downbeat tunes.
Featuring fractal electronica from Aphex Twin, sweet soul
from the
Chi-lites and of course, music from the Orb
themselves--"Back to Mine 12"
is every bit essential as its predecessors

Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

Live 93

UFOrb

Stay away from later stuff - after about 95

Best to start at the beginning: "Adventures Beyond the
Ultraworld" (Double Disc) and U.F. Orb are pinnacles of the
"ambient house" sound they forged. "Orbus Terrarum" and
"Orblivion" are not as spaced as the previous two, but have
some great moments in them. Those albums stand as their
best work.

The "back to mine" series is good. I heard a few and they
work well.

i like it, the mp3s that where going round before it got
released where different tunes too, i really liked jungle
but it wasnt on the album.

apparantly it was completed 2 years before any release, Alex
P had to rework some of them for the eventual release

The Orbs Adventure's Beyond the Ultraworld is a classic..

I also like Orbus Terrarum pretty good...

Seeing them live in '93 was an epic experience, the bass was
HEAVY, they really cranked everything up to 11...

orbus terrarum is my favourite orb album.
ffwd (which is the orb plus a few collaborators) is an
absolutely amazing ambient album. everybody should have it.
except it's very rare.
and if you're looking for an alex patterson mix, he has a
great one on one of the cds from the textures doublepack,
along with darren emerson of underworld.

My favorite is UForb. I guess you can't go wrong with any
Orb album.

"stay away from 95 and after..."

heh, it iwas not very objective. Cydonia and Orblivion is a
classic themselves. :)
