can someone tell me of a record store in london (preferably in a handy / convenient area) that will definitely have some good new music? eg venetian snares, hrvatski, bogdan raczynski, maybe even some Cat Power, Mike Patton things....

Selectadisc which is down Berwick Street which just off Oxford Street, that is record shop heaven. Down Berwick Street and around it there are about 10+ decent record shops everything from secondhand, new, jazz, hip hop etc etc.

Ok,here goes...the most central and convenient has to be Oxford Street.
Not only does it have the usual HMV(pretty good) and Virgin, there is a side street off of it called 'Berwick Street' which holds numerous record stores, most notably and famously, 'Sister Ray'.
A lot sell cd's mainly, but there are some specialist vinyl shops in the area(you'll be better asking someone when you get there).
Also,'Tower Records' is 5 minutes around the corner in Picadilly.
All shops have a good selection of IDM etc(well, the items that i've left!! lol)
When are U coming over?
