I picked up "turn on the bright lights" by interpol today
at best buy for 7 dollars based on the recommendation from
some of you people here. I think it's pretty alright but the
guy's voice kind of ruins some songs for me...the
instrumentals seem really nice though.

He reminds me of Ian Curtis.

it's pretty good stuff I recon.

Nothing out of this word, but the production is good, songs
well structured. Not bad at all.

Their guitarist looks like Ophecks.

Lyrics could use a little work, other than that they're
wonderful.

I love that album, but his voice does seem a bit... monotone
sometimes... an excited yet disinterested monotone. What the
fuck am I talking about?

Anyway, yeah, it was one of my faves of 2002, and they DON'T
sound exactly like Joy Division like some would claim. But
there's similarities... but that's a good thing.

the album was great, but they're going to have to diversify
next time around if they want to keep my respect...

Good album.

Had a friend raving about it. He let me hear a few tunes off
of it, and I decided to get it.

well, i finally picked this up. i had completely forgotten
about it, actually, until i passed it in the record store
today. it is, of course, fantastically delicious, and i'm
very pleased with my purchase.

the only thing that worries me now is seeing that pigeon st.
got it for seven dollars. i paid much more than that. =[

i got this album yesterday it really good it seems imo to
have a mix of the late 80's/early 90's vocals
(smiths,joydivision) with post grunge guitarin
(seafood,llama farmers,placebo)

my favorite is obstacle 1

I saw them in Oslo, the day before Aphex Twin, and they
rocked. The singer sounds like a mad priest or something.

Wow I made this thread a while ago.

Well, now I like his voice so I guess it does grow on you.

stay away from the black ep, it's very much not worth the
investment. go find an EP w/ the studio version of
Specialist and buy that instead.

not a huge investment, if you ask me.

I just bought 'Turn on the bright lights', and my dad seems
to like it. Oh, and I love it.

How constructive.
