i'm enjoying The directors Cut now.
I wonder if Aphex listens to fantomas.... or likes Mike
Patton.... hes so american, aphex is so english....

patton is mad, i love that guy!
mr bungle - california is one of my fave top 10 albums
ever..! fantomas is more extreme, i like the first album the
best. fucken brutal.

Patton rules - there's a lot of threads about him on this
board (most of which I'm spouting gibberish on) - I doubt
Aphex listens to him as he hates rock music, but he might've
checked out the CTD cover out of curiosity.

i'd love to see them/him live! apparently they go nuts
...then stop exactly together! in time..... funny stuff like
that....

yeah, that'd be great to see 'em perform this insane music
live..

"mike patton - adult themes for voices" is another favorite,
mike using a 4-track with various effects and making the
most fucked up sounds you've ever heard just using his
voice.. hehe, 41 minutes of pure genius!

The first track on that album is just begging to be
sampled.

I also like the 'Inconsolable Widows' track - extremely
amusing :D

(shoots the bird)

fantomas-s/t------way to fcukin wacky
fantomas-the directors cut---very well done
tomahawk---very nice

its funny that mike thinks that fnm was basically a joke, i
liked faith no more, it was 80's early 90's music

'disco volante' can be very frightening in a certain mood...
it's probably my favourite patton record.

yeah, it could depend on how you take it, i mean for me its
a music that puts me in a good spirit because i saw some
fantomas live (on tv that is) and really to see patton how
he enjoys doing this stuff is just great
i guess it is not dark and creepy if you see it like so

dillinger w/ patton doing aphex, what fun!

i saw faith no more 3 times...
angel dust, king of a day and album of the year tours.
saw mr bungle once and thought i kinda sucked but they did
"everybodys working for the weekend" and it rockd!
need to see fantomas, stat.

i got some "fatamos" recently and a guy in work plays "mr.
bungle" and..." faith no more", who i did like back in the
day..... and it strikes me that the stuff is clever, loud,
qwirky etc and definitely sampable ..... but just doesn´t
have the edge of braindance stuff...... its slightly
predictable and wouldnt have me crawling back for
more........

For the kids i think

dunno how FAR off topic this is, but i was buying DVD's the
other day......and i saw this COFFIN type box.....called Mr
Coffin (it's a brazilian series?) anyway it said it was by
fantomes......the same group or what......or is that word
used in brazil.......i'm very curious.......it looked
scary.......i almost got it but the 50 dollar price tag made
me think twice about it!!

hohohoho

right?

I dunno, I was always sorta curious about the position you
can take with bands covering other people's songs - you
obviously have to pay royalties but do you need full
permission too? Or can you just do it even if they hate you
and are against it?

true.
but how many people really cover aphex?
and isnt rdj really protective of his songs where he has say
in what goes down?
