I can't believe what a fantastic album this is! I know it's different, but after only two listens I was completely hooked on this album.
Anyone else feel the same way?

I liked the album, but feel the lyrics were a bit pretentious, and the overabundant use of traditional eastern instruments was somewhat self indulgent.

I'm always made uncomfortable by this kind of overly slavish retro/homage sort of thing, especially when it doesn't add much to the original. Why not just listen to some good old Pink Floyd and Beatles?
Now on the other hand, when a band takes a genre and does their own thing with it, that can be cool, like what The Cramps did to rockabilly.

I'm the same as Woofer, I didn't care for it. Although, it's definitely cool that their trying out new things under the AA guise. I want to hear some more shit that was on ISDN and Dead Cities, that sound rules.

I am the same as many..on first listen I didnt mind it but each successive listen revealed naff goofiness of it all..now I cant stop giggling when I hear it..not quite the response I previously reserved for FSOL...Dead Cities remains the king.
