I was thinking of getting xbox for 2 reasosn: 1) ps2 is a lousy dvd player 2) some games that are strictly xbox (halo and that new mgs2 type game) |

umm Halo will be out for pc\mac next year and if your talking about Splinter Cell, that comes out for ps2 and ps2 next year. also the mgs2 substance comes out for ps2 next year too. xbox hardly has anything exclusive, most exclusives are only time based like for 6 months then the other consoles get em. |

my pc sucks anyways so I have no chance at playing any games that were made after warcraft 3, thats about the newest game that runs decently. by the way I thought halo sucked, it brought nothing new at all. i have no idea why it was so popular, just another average fps. |

The fact that you have to chip or upgrade BIOS on XBOXes in order to render VCDs sucks. I was going to watch CKY4 on a friends XBOX but it wasn't chipped and then I got too drunk to remember any when I saw it later in the evening. |

yes that is typical microsoft, make something so desireable and then charge people for it, when it should have been built in the box in the first place. Bill Gates = son of a bitch. I think the xbox has the best graphics I have ever seen out of all the game consoles out there. |

Wait so what do you need to play dvds? And is it a good dvd player? This is a major factor in if im buying xbox or not. |

Yeah, it's a good DVD player...but you need the DVD kit/remote control (another 20 qud..20/30 dollars)... for VCDs, DivXs you need to chip the machine...better off sticking with an unmodded machine until this settles down a bit tho.... |

yeah, speaking of which, is there anyway to get around it that dvd kit thing? my flat just got one for $NZ 320 (inc. gst) ~ $US 150 .. vely nice. |
