So does anyone know this album? Would you recommend it?
I've been thinking about buying it...

I thought "lapdance" was okay... i hate that new
video "rockstar" that gets shown all the time these days.
But yesterday i saw a live-performance by n.e.r.d. on tv and
they played a song called "stay together"... and i was
amazed :-o What a great song! So emotional! I instantly fell
in love with it, and now i'm very curious what the rest of
the cd will sound like... hopefully lots of songs in that
emotional style, and not the stupid hardrock+rap style of
"rockstar" ;-)

anyone who's heard it?

Also i understand the cd is released in two versions? An
original version and a new "live" version or something...
i'm very confused about that :-/ Which one is better? And
how will i be able to tell them apart?

I downloaded the regular version, i like Rock Star and Lap
Dance but the slower songs didnt appeal to me.

I think the newer version has added layers and things;
polished off and reworked a bit. Not certain though.. Wait
for Travis to get on, I'm sure he knows. I think 'In Search
Of' is pretty good, my favorite song off the cd is 'Brain'.
Personally, I like their production work as the Neptunes
much better. The background in LL Cool J's 'Luv U Better'
drives me crazy.

I think N.E.R.D.'s singer is very cool, the way he moves and
dances.
They have some kind of own identity in this grey mass of
MTV-bands.

THey only reason i liked that new Justin Timberlake song was
because Pharrels in it :-D

yeah, i saw him interviewed in loladamusica (dutch
tv-programme about music) a while back... really interesting
guy! He seems very... uh... interlectual, with unique views
on life and the world in general.

He also talked about how he was going to get a blowjob later
that night :-p And he'd be doing so whilst listening to
stereolab, "the ultimate fellatio-music" as he called it.

I like how he wears a shirt that says "rietveld" in the
justin-video (also a really great song! With or without
pharrel).

Anyway cabbog... who is travis? Some kind of n.e.r.d-expert?

i like the live instrument, american version of the cd
better than the programmed version released internationally
a year before it.

if you liked "stay together", that's a LOT more like the
rest of the album than either "lapdance" or "rockstar"
(which was written as a parody of rap-rock originally). i
highly recommend buying it; for us americans, we can get it
as cheap as $5.99 at Best Buy.

aaahh, thanks mate! :-)
That's what i was hoping to hear!

Maybe george will go to a recordstore today... if he can
find the time for it. Guess he will have to listen to the
two different versions to decide for himself which one he
prefers.

(i've still got stay together stuck in my head! What
a song!)

well if you do mp3's check out the american/live instrument
versions of "run to the sun" and "baby doll" and i think
you'll agree they're superior
however it'll prolly cost you more than the european version

*bump*

Well i finally bought the cd 3 days ago :-)
It turned out the european version is pretty much unfindable
:-/ N*E*R*D must have really hated it themselves, and had it
taken out of stores or something, because all i could see
was the american version. It was even on sale, so actually
pretty cheap :-)

And i love it! I bought it at the same day as 26 mixes... on
that day aphex twin was pretty much all i listened to, but
now i've started listening to ...in search of, and i don't
want to stop :-p

It's basically just pop-music... but so well done! I can't
get enough :-)

I still think "stay together" is definitely the
highlight of the album... but all the other songs are really
good too. Things are getting better, brain, run to the
sun... they're all so catchy. Even Rockstar sounds better in
the album-context. And Lapdance just rocks! I love that one
now! When i push play and that riff kicks in... wow... i
haven't been blown away like that by something in a long
time.

The only thing i do not like is that guestrapper harvey in
lapdance... his lyrics, bah... disgusting and immature. I
try not to focus too much on it, because when i do it ruins
the song a little. "Chicks nick-name me prador, they get
high of my dick. I take 'em to my home, they call it the
cock pit. Time for take off, their panties they drop quick
Now that's first class fuckin, and that's some fly
shit
"... :-/
Lord knows why these guys invited him to join them on this
song.

But oh well... it's only a couple of seconds on an otherwise
excellent album... so i'm still happy :-)

it was only 6.99 US dollars.....it was super cheap......i
dunno why they sold it for so little cos it's SUCH an
amazing bargin full of cute lil numbers sings *run to the
sun* =0)

glad you like it and you found a copy!

i have it. its good. its not their best work but its good.
i like the clipse better.
someone said on here that all neptunes sounds the same a few
days ago.. yeah i thought, it does a bit.. i do like it
though. i mean i used to like everything todd terry or
basic channel did when they were peaking even though all
that sounded the same.
(rambles off slowly)

i still think someone should release a neptunes-compilation
album. But they seem to be at their peak at the moment (i
mean you can hardly turn on mtv without seeing
something the neptunes were involved with), but maybe
later... when things have calmed down a bit. A compilation
would be a great idea... i'd buy it :-D

"it was super cheap......i dunno why they sold it for so
little
"

hm... that is kind of strange. So it's available cheap in
europe AND the us. The album's probably not selling well
then. Shame...

I've had that weird catchy melody that comes in during the
chorus of 'tape you' in my head all day long :-)

they been giving them a big push over here, had them on all
the kiddie pop shows.. probly cost quite a lot (if not in
cash definitely in favours).
its cos they had such success with all these icons they been
working with/over.
all the suits probly got sold it at such arms length they
never clocked the lack of any real front persona.

no......it's not cos it's not selling well. it started out
lower priced.

i think it's because they weren't well known and they wanted
more peepz to check them out and so they made it ultra
affordable.

of course thats just a guess

(btw surrounded 'The Master of my Domain' episode was on
last night =0)

it a chance. Listen before ye judge and stuff like that etc
etc enzovoorts :-p).

And i'll just find my own island then. It'll be much
bigger and much better and much funner than your pathetic
island ;-D All the cool people will come to my island (all
the hot chicks too!).

And maybe, just maybee, i'll invite you over one day
;-)

titsworth! That site seems to be down at the moment :-( (or
my computer is having some sort of problem again), i'll try
to get on later. Thanks for telling me! I'm anxious to hear
those mp3's! :-)

"it started out lower priced."

oh it did? Not in the netherlands it didn't :-) You
americans have all the luck!

"i think it's because they weren't well known"

well whatever the reason, it's a very nice gesture methinks
:-)

"'The Master of my Domain' episode was on last night
=0)
"

hehe, many people seem to think that is the best episode
ever! I don't agree, but it's definitely in my top 10 though
:-) It's a classic!

"Are you Master of your Domain?"
"I am King of the County. You?"
"Lord of the Manor."
"I'm Queen of the castle!"

You're welcome anytime my friend ;-) But ofcourse, seeing as
it's my island... i'll be deciding what music gets to be
played :-p

(this puts morton in a dillemma... no n.e.r.d. or hot
chicks... what to choose? ;-)

"i will refer to you as Koko from now on :P :D"

nooooooo!!!!! ;-D
You know, if I could get this Coco woman down to xltronic,
they wouldn't be able to call me Koko anymore because Phobia
would never allow 2 Kokos.

well i give up.
n-e-r-d.co.uk just doesn't seem to be working. I know the
page exists, because the pagetitle "N.E.R.D:: The Search Is

a while i always get the standard 'page unavailable' crap.
And n-e-r-d.com doesn't feature those new tracks does it?

No luck so far, but like you said... eventually they'll fix

I've seen all those videos (+ they're on pretty heavy

"snoop dogg tune "beautiful",with

I love that one!! Pharrell's vocals are incredible on there,

You were right.
And thanks, i had been wondering if either the neptunes or
snoop dogg himself made the music.
