He evryone...I know I have not posted hardly ANY new
topics, but this is one I HAD too voice about.

This record is easily in the race for album of the year
IMO.

From the opening track to the last note, I was swept away by
Beck and his lovely slow melodies...Anyone agree?...
Beck's past records NEVER did anything for me, I NEVER liked
em at all, but this is just magical....
With producer Nigel Godrich at the helm every track seems to
fall into place and makes my heart warm and fuzzy...

Anyone else enjoy this album as much as I do???...
HOpe everyone is well...

Cheers!!!
=)

It's a rare jewel..

When it came out all these terds on the board started
slamming it though. I'm with ya though Iron.

It's totally beautiful.. Easily one of the best albums I
heard in 2002.

Wow, I must not have been lurking round these parts when the
"overall opinion" was going around the MB....

That's too bad really, I absolutely love the record and
think its EASILY his best work to date.

Good lookin out man, glad to hear you like it too.

I remember NOT liking it too much....

Man, I know everyone is probably gonna get annoyed about how
much I am hyping this album...but I just CANNOT, for the
life of me, stop listening to it.

I think the scariest thing to me is how SAD I get when I
do...I mean I cannot help but think of a lost love and I
STILL sit through it and end up smiling...

Wierd...maybe Im going crazy...

I think Sea Change is an awesome album for sure. I don't
know if I could say it's his BEST work though... all of his
releases have been pretty much drastically different than
the others.

It's almost a case of apples and oranges. It's deffinately
his most heartfelt album, but, depending on your criteria
any of his albums could be his best IMO. Except 'Midnight
Vultures'... maybe I just didn't get the joke, but, I
thought that album was pretty fuckin' assy.

I think Beck started out as an absolute genius - Mellow Gold
is a fantastic album and probably one of the best lryical
albums ever. But I think he's slowly deteriorated. Odelay
and Mutations were good albums but I thought Midnite
Vultures was really crap and I wasn't personally too
impressed by Sea Change. But that's just my opinion - if you
guys think it's great then he must be doing something right.
Maybe I should give it another try...

I still think One Foot In The Grave is one of his best... I've
been in love with it since the first time I heard it.

Yeah One foot in the grave is a damn good release!! Cant

my favorite track on it is either Round The Bend or Already
Dead...the whole record is incredible...i agree with others
that it is his best work to date, with Mutations following
in 2nd place...Beck is best at the slow night time records.

I finally got the album. I like it a lot. My favorite
track is still Lost Cause. I also love the track right
after it, End of the Day. The more depressing stuff is nice
too. Overall, not my favorite release of his, but I got my
money's worth.

Just thought i would say something about this, cos i am
quite a big beck fan.
i really like all his stuff but i must say the only one i
dont like is midnite vultures. the rest is amazing,
including sea change, which took me a long time to warm to,
like odelay did before it.
but western harvest field by moonlight, golden feelings and
one foot in the grave are just killer. so yeah :)

brilliant.. uhh.. yeah.. well, I've been listening to Mr.
Beck since his first album came out and have seen him on the
Odelay tour and I haven't bought anything (I did buy
Midnight Vultures and sold it though) since then due to his
"drastic" veering off the road and crashing, in sense, of
his musical style since Odelay. I know people change... but
I just don't like post-Odelay stuff as much :D Sea Change
just is too slow / depressing sounding to me
