it's pronounced "awe-tek-er" but IMO "oh-tek-ree" or

what does the word itself actually mean, if anything? i'm
thinking it has something to do with audio/sound, because
the base is 'au', which is like aural/audio, words that

I used to say:

OH-tek

I think that sounds badass. But then I found out that it's
(commonly) AW-tek-er, and that's how I pronounce it in my
head (I never have to say it out loud...).
