you have to be good with programming languages I guess, and
you need to check NFO files of a certain group to see if
they have any 'openings'.

Yes, but MP3 release groups classify as rather pathetic in
my book, unless they themselves managed to obtain a
pre-release copy of a record.

Real groups are pretty panicky about trust, so worming your
way up would take a while.

if you want to join a rls group, you have to be able to
provide rips in advance of commercial release, or lots and
lots of bandwidth and storage space..
or both

I really don't see why these people so much effort into
cracking and reverse engineering. Couldn't they just put
those skills to use as an actual programmer and make money?
