Played the demo of hitman 1, nice idea, poor execution (no
pun intended). A bit like Hidden & Dangerous in that
respect...
If the 2nd one sorts out the controls and little things that
spoiled the 1st one I may get it. I'll probably get it off
kaza/a demo, first though.

is there an official demo of Hitman2 available? i've
searched on www.hitman2.com but the only downloads i've
found are music and videos.

my pc is not exactly top-notch (866 Mhz PII, geforce2) so i
always need to test before buying.

this game seems so cool. :)

I bought Hitman- Contracts, and I like this one a LOT more
than Hitman 2.

The gameplay is pretty much unchanged, and it still has the
same weird slippery control and hyper ragdoll physics, but
it's SO much darker, the atmosphere is much nastier, it's
very effective and unsetttling. No more sunny vistas, it's
all gritty urban deathcity kill you motherfucker. You start
out in an asylum (I slaughtered all the patients), and the
second level is a rave in a meat-packing plant! Ravers
dancing amidst dead animals. And the target is like a 600
pound man. This game is very twisted, and enjoyable.

Manhunt was amazing! I've never played such an intense game.
A lot of people don't give it a chance, shrugging it off as
just there for shock value, but that is one mean,
intimidating game. It's great.

Although I think I've come to the conclusion upon beating
this meat-rave level that Hitman Contracts is equally mucho
fucked up. One of the weirdest game experiences around. A
guy in his underwear just attacked me with a meat cleaver
for no reason, so I shot him in the face and now everybody's
running around dressed in sadomasochistic leather jumpsuits
in a panic.

Oh my God, I'm so influential.

How are you liking it so far, have you played it yet? The
freedom of being able to gun down everybody in sight is a
bit too liberating for me, I'm afraid. I have a Mass
Murderer ranking on every level. I suck at sneaking. This
guy is no Sam Fisher.

Best thing about the game for me has been the atmosphere.
HUGE improvement on the second Hitman. The dark gloomy
levels, the classy and refined levels like the Hotel and the
Mansion... nice stuff. I love that illuminated tree near the
stables.

I'm telling myself that I have to complete pandora tommorow
first to have a consistent concept of being a secret service
guy who turns to a freelance hitman. But from what I've
heard contracts is pretty gloomy and fucked up therefore
more suiting to my perverted tastes.

What I mean is I may give up on p.t. for now and go for
hitman (I love silent assassin by the way)

"I have a Mass
Murderer ranking on every level. I suck at sneaking."

I managed to go through most of the levels of hitman 2 with
a silent assassin ranking. But I'm neurotically
perfectionistic anyway...

You should like this then. It uses the exact same engine and
it feels, for better or worse, like more of a mission pack
then a true sequel. Good shit, though. If it ain't broke,
don't fix it. Cherish it.

Hijacking my own thread, I bought Onimusha 3 today and it's
damn wow. You get to play as Jean Reno. That can't not be
awesome.
