I don't think anyone is better or worse, the people who have the money to put their record out have a right to do so. All you're really arguing about is creative styles, am I right? Why should anyone compare Mozart to AFX when they both clearly do not fit into the same genre. You think AFX could come up with a sonata and a sonatina and make it sound good? On the other hand would you consider Mozart to come up with Peek 82454501? I think not! Both of these examples are fucking great musicians, which is why I'm talking about it. Their music moves me (or whatever). Country, Punk, Rap, etc. music pisses me off because no one in that genre can expand on styles, ie; making music sound different instead of recycled shit. Jazz, Classical, TECHNO (everything considered) can sound completely different, i think because there are no words to communicate with. I hate words. I'm sorry I bored all of you.

Okay, first don't let the different genre's of rdj and eminem confuse anyone. two people can drive two completely different cars, but they are still driving. just as rdj and eminem are both musicians. So i don't think that we are really discussing who's music is better, that is a matter of opinion.
I think (and let me know if i am wrong tek) that tek and I are discussing the talent and passion of musicians in the top40 vs the talent and passion of rdj. If that is the case, then what I am trying to say is [1]No contemporary of rdj can hold a candle to his originality, talent, and passion. [2]Top40 music does not directly imply that it is prefabricated and formulated. Granted that top40 can often be prefabricated and formulated, it's not always the case. [3]I do believe that eminem does have talent and that he does have a passion. Eminem did not rap because he wanted to make money, he did it because he loved it, just like rdj. Rdj and eminem could totally have there positions reversed.... what if the electronic scene was as popular as the rap scene? Then rdj would come out with the same music he normally would have, but there would be this crowd who reacts negatively, just because they don't like his music. They would say, "oh, rdj just spins sandpaper and puts the mic in the blender just to piss everyone off... what a wanker, what a fucking tryhard" (just like people react in a bad way to em's lyrics, which are satirical and violent). sorry, but eminem is under one huge fucking spot light, so ppl just need to leave him the fuck alone. No matter what he does, he'll be scrutinized for it. so then this is how he reacts. you can see in his lyrics that he gets sick of all his fans, but he also tries to say that he still appreciates them. i mean fuck, he's always rapped this way, and now when he continues to rap this way, ppl just say he is trying too hard. sorry but i think eminem has talent, passion, and originality too. And there is something to be said for it. He is not as good as rdj though, because eminem probably has Zero talent musically... his whole cd is produced by dr. dre. Eminem is a lyricist.. which falls under the category of music. No, he doesn't deserve all the money he gets for it, but niether does richard... sorry. people are just way too over payed in this world. fuck money. it corrupts. money drives the top40... that's why it IS the top40, because it sells the most. but don't let the corruption of money blind us all and just point our finger blindly at the top40 and accuse it all of being corrupt. I mean, we are grouping this whole top40, mtv thing all into one big money/media driven monster... but I remember when the Come to Daddy Video was nominated for best video. Of course it lost, but still... the media say aphex twin, and saw that it can sell, and it was going through the ranks... but that doesn't mean aphex twin is corrupt either....

nice words Xepha..My friend once said to me, that the stuff eminem is doing is like richard..Trying to annoy people, or do things to cause reactions..while my friend doesnt really understand aphex, so this point is not really literate, they both are controversial within their genre, i suppose. If that makes sense..

In England there was a recent tv show called "pop stars". A band was formed and a series of shows studied the progress of this said band.
The ladies are cheeky but the concept is f**king shite.
The show consisted mainly of people crying when they did not make it into the band.
I know of a 26 male who bought the record.
Need I say more ?
Today I heard a Phil Collin's song on the radio. There was a bass line that sounded like an aphex / autechre style.
I have just come back from a camping trip in the spanish mountains. There was not a single person up there, I heard pure silence for the first time in three years.

Why you say I come from a Kangaroos opening ?
Do you mean it's front or back end.
I still do not know why my comments made you state that I originate from a Kangaroo's.

Places I go ????????
I don't go all over the place I have just come back from Spain for a week.
UB40s incompetence annoyed me during the mid eighties / early nineties.
They insisted singing "Red Red Wine, Stay close to me".
Did they not realise that :
a) Red Wine is a liquid and does not have any listening tools, namely ears.
b)Even if liquids were able to comprehend verbal instructions from pop stars, they would have no choice whether or not they could "Stay Close to me" or not, due to a lack of perambulation tools, namely legs.

Anyone who makes music...I did some work on a site called www.avantnoise.com who give you your own page and let you charge what you like for your music. Have a look and see what you think! N.B. I only contributed artwork, I have no interest in how well the site does!!

I really enjoy Aphex Twin. I am currently trying to memorize every piece that he has released so that I may play them in my mind whenever I need to. He is amazingly good at his art. I personally think that "Icct Hedral (Edit)" is one of his best tracks. My favorite album of all time to this day would have to be Selected Ambient Works Vol. II It takes certain minds to enjoy music such as Aphex Twin's work. But people do not necessarily have to be "musicians" to enjoy Aphex Twin...even though I am. I guess what I'm basically trying to say is that...hmmm...I don't know...oh well. Anyway...whatever. There was a comment posted earlier about Aphex Twin vs. Eminem. There were some good points made. I guess Eminem does have a passion for his art, but don't compare him to Aphex Twin. Ever.

the only hiphop stuff i actually like is original stuff, like beastie boys, where they play all their own stuff...
I was a musician way before hearing aphex twin, although hearing his stuff influenced me to make IDM stuff as well as my usual industrial, metal, and electronica.
