Let's discuss music !

I'm now playing Mag by Gescom. This track is so goooood. I'm
waiting from the next release of Gescom with the
contribution of battery operated... I'm quite sure it will
have the same cool hip-hop vibe !

What is your favorite GESCOM track ??

str_ph: which one? .. the original or the mix .. i
reckon the mix on THIS is mucho better .. shit, i'm going to
put it on right now!!

What I know is not official. So it may be bullshit but I'm
not scared - I share:

next release later this year - label should be bip-hop
records. This is supposed to be a contribution between
Gescom (who are they ?) and Battery operated. Battery
operated mix sounds coming from the musique concrète and
this mental hip-hop à la Gescom. They work also on visuals
- maybe a DVD.

My second fav Gescom : go sheep.

Gescom is Autechre collaborating with friends, I think.

do you mean the autechre remix. I like both but I was
listening to the original one. Haa and those Key Nell
Autechre mix !!!

This is so wanky to remix yourself under different names.
They wouldn't belong to the 'intelligent' side of techno I'd
call them cheaters and liars :)

Yaya I know - but what friends ? Sean & Rob said that
sometimes they don't even take part in production of the
tracks.

no 'Go sheep' on The Sound of Machines our Parents Used EP
- that's not a hip-hop track much more mellow like early BOC
I think.

if you check the planet-mu web pag you will find ' Gescom vs
Battery operated CDR' in the right part of the main page.
I'm quite sure that's more than a rumor.

Wonder if the record (if it is one) will be sold as usual on
WarpMart, og you have to do something extra to get your hand
on it?

Has the previous releases been sold in a "normal way"?

I listened to it in record shop ; found it good but I don't
know why I have this intuition that I will find it boring
after listening to it for a month or so. I'll try the MP3s
and If I really find it essential - i'll buy the next
release.

str_ph: I had this French teacher on high-school, that
forced us to listen to MC Solaar, and analyze the lyrics to
learn french:)
What is happening on the French hip-hop stage these days?

Haa ha this Mc Solaar guy - and for the french hip-hop scene
it became rap-business ; gangster songs / easy girls...
We have quantity but not really quality. But for those who
want to start digging french hip-hop I give you a few
hints:

early NTM ( NTM stands for Nique Ta Mère = Fuck your mother
).

assassin ( they were here at the beginning - they are still
in da underground scene )

TTC ( produced by DJ Vadim - last release on Big Dada )

DSL (hard to find on P2P - you can find a video
here )

and maybe Lunatic (if you can find)

Honestly I don't listen to french hip-hop that's crap.

There's only one CD Gescom release and that's the Keynell
remix EP.

Everything is on vinyl, good luck finding them (and paying
for them).
