Is it just me?

Ever since I got into this kinda music (IDM, braindance,
whatever u wanna call it) I can't listen to any other
conventional music...

I used to like drum n bass till I got feed me weird things
(by the fucking daddy). Now everything is too slow, the
beats are repetive and too basic.

Am I the only one with this strange syndrome?

So you like Drill n bass hmm? }:) I'm hooked on that also.

ATM, I'm playing the 'Thinking of you' CD by 'Bogdan
Raczynski' crazy drill.

I know waht you mean- lots of "normal" music sounds bland in
comparison...

I understand this syndrome.

I suffer from it myself.

liking idm hasn't prevented me from still liking the other
kinds of music i was listening to before.
i'm listening to oasis right now. :)

*scrunches his muzzle* Ugh, Actully I had to listen to them
the other day when I made a b-side comp for a friend. I used
to like them so I have a bunch of old singles. As much as I
hate them I still gotta love the cover of 'I am the walrus'
they did.

Yeah, i suffer, well wouldn't say suffer, from this syndrome
too. Before IDM i was listening to metal, but now this kicks
the ass off it. I used to listen to anything, but now i
can't. It just doesn't feel right, it must be electronic
atleast.

i prefer to listen the most 'creepy' music, so thats why i
mainly like idm (or whatever) or triphop. but that certain
creepy feeling can be found in another genres, only not so
often.

so i find that very many genres have something to give.

That was on the bootleg, b-side to Wonderwall? Most of my
Oasis CD's are on 'Helterskelter' not Creative which makes
them colectable to some sence. I should sell them or
something.

I have no problem liking basic stuff.
I like everything that is good.
Good is good.
Bad is bad.

i'm glad i don't suffer from that... otherwise i could have
just thrown away my old cd-collection (hundreds of
albums!)... but no, i still enjoy most of them just as
much.

However i would say i listen to my IDM-albums atleast 60% of
the time i put on a cd... and i have like maybe 15 or 20
IDM-cd's... and hundreds of cd's in other genres. So IDM has
definitly had a big impact on my musical tastes

Spikee Dragon > 'the masterplan' was also an album... well,
mostly a compilation of b-sides, but it's a good one. it has
the cover of 'i am the walrus' you were talking about :)

Gah, I can't remember but if you really want to see I can
list the tracks from the CDs I used later. I mixed them
around a bit, It started with I am the walrus and finished
with Cum on feel the noise. 14 tracks in all from 1994.

i feel sorry for you, Fly. you should listen to my radio
show, you'll find good things to listen to outside of IDM.

for a while the only thing i could listen to was
electronic.. but i have started to 'branch out' more ..i
just bought a slowdive cd today, for example...but most of
the non-'idm' stuff i listen to still uses electronics to
some extent..

actually, the past few months ive been really into stuff
that mixes electronics with traditional instruments...moreso
than just straight electronic stuff even... like stuff from
hefty, mum, fridge, stereolab, air, various hip hip and
'post rock' artists

Fly I'm sorta the same, I won't listen to anthing but idm,
trance (dark/psychadelic) and some vid. game music (Zuntata
for example)...other genres are just boring, predictable and
plain crap to me.
