Dunno how many of you will know about this new BBC digital radio station. Plays a lot of urban music including hip hop, drum & bass, garage, ragga etc. It's not a bad station but what has annoyed me is the fact it is being promoted as a "black radio station"...what do y'all think? |

You think? hip hop and ragga I would say yes to, but I was quite proud of the fact the drum and bass was back in the day considered as a meeting between what was seen as white music (rave and hardcore) and black music (hip hop and breakbeat) and was the first truely modern multicultural scene. I went to the old drum and bass nights where there was a proper mixture of races who were just out for a good time...it is still like that now...I think it is wrong to target a national radio station as a black station |

i often look for placements on bbc radio stuff , you know any old way in to get ur foot in the door and i was about to apply for a great dj slot (they were doing thier new talent search thing) and low and behold you had to be asian to apply? when will we see a caucasian music station ;) its quite offensive and i think really polarizes people. (sorry it annoys me, its like the mobos, why ahve black music awards? it just seems to suggest the white man cant join in fucking sepratist bastards the bbc |
