Orbital - In-Sides

Someone once said that if Orbital did one thing well...it
was soundtracks. This proves not only that, but also
showcases their clever, meticulous and flat-out gorgeous way
of making music. No doubts, no hesitation...the path of
their music from beginning to end is clear.

Great tracks making a great album. This record is classic
in its musical showcase.

What say you folks...

Hey LeCouer...

See if you can procure (Hah...there's MY word of ze
day...;.) ) one of the limited edition copies. Those have a
2nd CD with the Times Fly and The Box EPs on there.
Definitely worth the effort...:.D

the best thing is the box ep

they should have made the BOX LP

I like it, but some of the songs get very tired towards the
end. It's like they could've been shorter, some of them. But
I love The Box for sure.

i have in sides, along with a bonus disc with satan, satan
live, as well as halcyon on on live too.

i bust that disc out occasionally, makes my think of the
damn korg prophacy i shoulda bought way back when, too bad
they don't make them anymore

In-Sides was the first album I bought by Orbital [whan it
came out, bought it on tape for only £3 :)].At first, believe
it or not,I hated it,but one night walking home stoned
listening to it on my personal stereo,it all made sense.
Its my favourite Orbital album, and one of my favourite
albums. The girl with sunshine in her hair is excellent, but
my favourite songs from the album is Out there
somewhere[parts 1&2].If you dont have this album,buy
it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW!!!!!!!!!!

is insides on vinyl at all as i have never seen it or heard
about it and would like a copy very very much indeed, if

well not much to add to that, exept i think seeing them the
box performed live in 96 brought me back to dance music
after ten years of just rock (i listened to klf and tapes
like turn up the bass when i was a little big, pet shop boys
even before that: it's a, it's a, it's a sin)

this album is amazing. it got me in to electronic music back
in 96 when my friends played it to me. before that i only
listened to stuff with guitars, and a little portishead.

i saw them live that same year at mount universe, they were
absoultely brilliant. i seen em a few times after playing
stuff from the middle of nowhere, while it was realy good,
it never compared to that first show.

i have no idea why they re-released it with the saint bodged
on the end, what were they thinking?

yeah, in sides is quite good... I didn't really think it was
anything special for ages after I bought it though... I need
to play it, as I've not listened to it for a while...

MON is good too!! Love Style!!

I also thought it made no sense to include the saint in such
a perfect album

I have the american release though with the extra cd
containing the saint, the sinner two satan versions and
halcyon live

that is good

yes i am aware of this. i have the special box version. the
saint was added on as a chaep marketing ploy later on as you
said. its not even any good. the sinner isnt bad though.

the box was most likely the one track that set me on the
path towards wanting more and more out of electronica..

oh man you gotta be kidding. the box is and its second part
are the most boring tracks I've ever heard. I mean, it's
got some nice counterpoint and I like that little brush
drumming loop.. but sheesh. It goes on forever. I just
can't take it. It would be better as a shortened idea
instead of a milked one. the rest of the album is wonderful
though :)

I don't know which part of the box it was.. but the one with
the stop-motion video w/ the creepy woman walking down the
